Home Internet Access. Students may use wireless networks at home to use their Devices. Students are not typically required to have Internet or wireless Internet access at home, and in times of special circumstances, as where schooling at home instead of at school, those without home Internet connections should contact their teacher to make arrangements for home Internet connectivity.

4.1 Saving to the iPad/Home Directory/Submitting Work
Home Internet Access. ⚫ Students are allowed to set up access to home wireless networks on their Chromebooks. This will assist students with the ability to complete, retrieve, access, etc. educational content used in classes with the Chromebook successfully. ⚫ Students may also set up home printing capabilities for their Chromebook. This will require a wireless printer and proper settings on the Chromebook using Google Cloud Print.
Home Internet Access. ● In the event a device needs to be checked out from MPS and brought home, students are encouraged to connect to home networks and wireless hotspots. School and district technical support staff are not responsible for supporting or troubleshooting connectivity to home networks. Contact your Internet service provider for troubleshooting and assistance.

4.1 Saving to the iPad/Home Directory/Submitting Work Email and Productivity apps: Most iPad productivity apps support the ability to open and edit email, word processing, documents, presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs, images, or other common file types. Students and teachers can exchange course-related files through their district- provided email and our Schoology learning management system accounts. Cloud-Based Services: Students may also have the option to utilize any number of free cloud-based options such as Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. The district will allow the use of such services by students on their iPads, but the District cannot be held responsible for the support of these personal, non-district provided services or the data that the students may store on these services.

Printing at home will require a wireless printer, proper settings on the iPad and the correct app. Students may save work to the home directory on the iPad. It is recommended students save documents to Google DOCS. Storage space will be available on the iPad, but it will not be backed up in case of re-imaging. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that work is not lost due to mechanical failure or accidental deletion. iPad malfunctions are not an acceptable excuse for not submitting work.

If you choose for you daughter to access your home WiFi with her school iPad the content will not be filtered as it is in school and it is therefore your responsilbity to ensure your daughter is not accessing anything that you would deem inappropriate. You can do this by adding security measures to your WiFi settings. Home Internet Access. Students are allowed to connect to other wireless networks through their iPad settings. The same school Internet filter that supervises connections on all Bend-La Pine Schools networks will restrict allowable content. When the iPad goes home or to any other location and connects to the Internet, content will be filtered to the same levels as those in our schools. PG. 7 PG. 8
Home Internet Access. Parents/Students shall determine whether to allow for a home wireless network on DTE or for other internet access at home. It is incumbent upon the parents to monitor and manage student Internet activity while at home. If a parent does not have internet access for their student at home due to financial and/or location reasons, the district has a limited number of mobile hotspots for use. These hotspots fall under DTE labeling and all district policies and procedures. Interested and eligible parents and students should contact the building principal for use.
