Hospitalization While on Vacation. In the event that an employee is confined to hospital during his vacation, he shall be permitted to reschedule and take that portion of his vacation period for which he was hospitalized. The rescheduled vacation or part thereof shall be at a mutually agreed upon time. In order to qualify for rescheduled vacation an employee must notify the Employer as soon as reasonably practicable of his hospitalization and shall submit a medical doctor’s certificate as to the reason for and duration of the hospitalization. The foregoing right to reschedule vacation shall not apply in the event that an employee’s hospitalization arises as a result of an accident or incident occurring while he is working for another employer.

Hospitalization While on Vacation. An Employee hospitalized while on vacation is eligible to convert vacation time to unused sick leave for the period of hospitalization provided reasonable proof of the hospitalization is provided. Conversion of vacation time to sick leave time will apply only to those days the Employee was pre-scheduled for vacation.

  • Sick Leave While on Vacation An employee who while on vacation is incapacitated for one (1) or more days due to personal illness or injury may charge such days to accrued sick leave. In such event, the employee promptly shall notify his department, and upon return to duty shall substantiate the need for, and use of, sick leave.

  • SECTION 4 - VACATION 4.1 Employee shall be entitled to accrue and take vacation leave in accordance with the policy applicable to employees of Manitoba.

  • Benefits While on Leave An employee will continue to receive her/his salary and benefits while on paid leave under this Article. An employee on unpaid leave may arrange to pay the costs required to maintain benefit coverage in accordance with the local provisions of the collective agreement.

  • Banked Vacation Once every five years an employee may bank one full year's vacation to be taken in conjunction with the next year's vacation. For the purposes of this clause, all vacation in the second year must be taken concurrently.

  • Vacation Planning The following general rules shall be observed in implementing the vacation planning program:
