Illness while on annual leave. Employees on annual leave, who become ill during the period of annual leave, may claim leave for own illness/injury instead of annual leave and loading (if applicable) subject to the following conditions: • The employee’s supervisor is promptly notified of the circumstances during the period of the illness and the approximate duration of the illness • The period of illness exceeds 3 days • Evidence of illness is supplied in accordance with clause 53.3. If leave for own illness/injury in lieu of annual leave is approved by the delegated manager, the employee’s annual leave and loading balances (if applicable) will be adjusted accordingly, and payroll deductions for leave loading will occur (if applicable).

Illness while on annual leave. Where an employee becomes sick whilst on annual leave for a period of not less than five days on which she/he would otherwise have worked, and immediately forwards to the employer a certificate of a legally qualified medical practitioner, then the number of days not less than five specified in the certificate shall be deducted from any sick leave entitlement standing to the employee's credit, and shall be re-credited to her/his annual leave entitlement.
