Indigenous Language Allowance. A staff member who has a recognised proficiency in any one of the Aboriginal or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander languages and is required to use the recognised language as a position requirement will be paid an allowance as specified in Schedule 2. Indigenous language means a recognised proficiency in any one of the Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander languages.
Indigenous Language Allowance.
1. In the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation, where a School Division undertakes student Indigenous language programming to teach students Indigenous languages, Teachers who teach and meet the following criteria will receive an allowance per School Year.
2. Where a Teacher demonstrates an acceptable level of fluency in an Indigenous language and meets the following criteria:
a) Teaches the language at least twelve percent (12%) of the time; or

Indigenous Language Allowance. An employee is eligible to receive an allowance where the employee is accredited to a fluent level in a recognised Indigenous Australian language by an appropriate individual or body, and where the employee is required to utilise a particular Indigenous Australian language in the course of their duties. The following payments will apply:
Indigenous Language Allowance a) In recognition of the increased effectiveness and productivity of staff proficient in Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Strait Islander languages, a staff member who is required by the University to use Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander language in the course of their employment shall be paid an allowance of:
i) Xxxxx 0 - $2256.10 per annum Level 1 is an elementary level. This level of accreditation is appropriate for staff members who are capable of using minimal knowledge of language for the purpose of simple communication.
ii) Xxxxx 0 - $3764.30 per annum Level 2 represents a level of ability for the ordinary purposes of general business, conversation, reading and writing.
Indigenous Language Allowance. An Employee who is required to substantially use an indigenous language in the course of their employment (with a recognized proficiency in any one of the Aboriginal or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx languages) will be paid an allowance as set out in Schedule D.
Indigenous Language Allowance a) A Full time Employee who is required by the University to use an Indigenous language in the course of their employment will be paid an allowance of:
(i) $1,862 per annum for Level 1 – Elementary Level. This is for Employees who are capable of using minimal knowledge of language for the purpose of simple communication.
(ii) $3,727 per annum for Level 2. Level 2 represents a level of ability for the ordinary purposes of general business, conversation, reading and writing.
b) For the purpose of this clause, Indigenous language will mean a recognised proficiency in any one of the Aboriginal or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx languages. The following allowances in clauses 21.4 to 21.8 apply to Professional Employees only:
Indigenous Language Allowance. 9.4.1 A Staff Member who is required by the University to use an Indigenous language in the course of their employment shall be paid an allowance of either:
a) Level 1 - $1386 per annum Level 1 is an elementary level. This is for Staff Members who are required to have, and be capable of using, minimal knowledge of language for the purpose of simple communication; or
b) Level 2 - $2774 per annum Level 2 represents a level of ability for the ordinary purposes of general business, conversation, reading and writing.
9.4.2 Indigenous language shall mean a recognised proficiency in any one of the Aboriginal or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx languages.
Indigenous Language Allowance.
