INTRODUCTION AND PROJECT BACKGROUND. The City of Tempe (City) owns public water mains throughout the Arizona State University (ASU) Tempe Campus. The City desires to replace some of their water mains that are at the end of their useful life. The City has reviewed water main break history and is prioritizing replacement of water mains at the ASU Tempe Campus. The water mains to be replaced with this project are grouped into four phases. This will provide the City flexibility in determining when to construct each phase of improvements. The first two phases are intended to be concurrent with other construction activities at the campus in the same vicinity. These water mains are generally located at the following locations: • Phase 1 - Tyler Mall: Approximately 700 linear feet of 8-inch water main along Tyler Mall, from Xxxx Mall to Palm Walk. • Phase 2Health Service: Approximately 600 liner feet of 8-inch water main through the Health Service Parking Lot from University Drive to Tyler Mall. • Phase 3 – College Avenue/Xxxx Mall: Approximately 500 linear feet of 12-inch water main along Xxxx Mall/College Avenue from Apache Boulevard to Lemon Street. • Phase 4 – Xxxx Mall: Approximately 850 liner feet of 12-inch water main along Xxxx Mall from University Drive to south of Tyler Mall. Xxxxxx Engineering (Engineer) will prepare construction documents (plans and technical special provisions) as well as Engineer’s Opinions of Probable Construction Costs (EOPCC) for the construction of the improvements. The City anticipates that the procurement methodology for construction will be through a Construction Manager at Risk (XXXX). The improvements will be separated into four sets of construction documents that correlate to each of the four phases.

INTRODUCTION AND PROJECT BACKGROUND. In October 1999, The US Agency for International Development (USAID) entered into a Cooperative Agreement (CA) with the Land Tenure Center (LTC), University of Wisconsin- Madison, to assist Zimbabwe with implementing the Land Reform and Resettlement Programme (LRRP II) and the Land Policy Framework. The Centre for Applied Social Sciences (CASS), University of Zimbabwe, is the principal local organization collaborating with LTC. Funds have been provided through the CA for technical assistance and research in support of the LRRP II and land policy elaboration and implementation. The subcontract between LTC and XXXX was negotiated during January and February 2000, culminating in the signing of the subcontract in April of that year. A Project Management Committee (PMC), consisting of representatives from CASS, USAID, LTC, Xxxxxxx Xxxx, Project Director Xxxxxx Xxxxxxx, Resident Project Coordinator Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxx, Financial Officer Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx, XXXX Director Xxxxxxx Xxxxxx, XXXX Project Manager Xx. This is the second annual report of the CA’s operation, covering the period 1 July 2000-30 June 2001. Project administration occupied CASS and LTC during most of the first half of the period. This focus on administration combined with donor retrenchment resulting from the farm occupations and violence surrounding the elections resulted in significant delays in the startup of the technical program. In particular, the policy studies advised by the PMC in Annex A were substantially rolled-over into the Year II workplan.

INTRODUCTION AND PROJECT BACKGROUND. 0000 Xxxx is an important collector street between 4000 South and 5500 South that runs from the north boundary of West Point all the way through Hooper City. Hooper City intends to improve and widen 0.83 miles from 4200 South to 3550 South. Several of Hooper Cities businesses are located along this corridor, including the Hooper City Civic Center and North Park. This area of Hooper north of 4000 South and along 5500 West has seen the highest growth pressure in the City and that growth is going to begin to take its toll on the safety of vehicles and pedestrians using the roadway. With the existing asphalt road north of 4000 South being barely 20 feet wide in most places, 5500 West in Hooper will have a very difficult time handling the projected additional traffic coming from many dozens of new homes being proposed and constructed in the area. The project will include intersection improvements at 4000 South, paved shoulders and will reconstruct the existing asphalt street sections. The project also includes many improvements to access, safety, drainage, sidewalks, cross walks, curb and gutter, as well as center turn-lanes at the major intersections that will drastically improve safety in the area.
INTRODUCTION AND PROJECT BACKGROUND. The 2725 N. / 2775 N. Connection project is a combined effort between Xxxx West City and Pleasant View City. This joint transportation project will construct 1.12 miles of new roadway along 2725 North and 2725 connecting into and extending 1900 West. The completion of this project will create safer access to a signalized intersection at the 2700 North roadway and will improve mobility and provide connectivity to commercial and industrial developments that are located in the area.
