Job Class Seniority. 31 The total length of accumulated service within the affected job classification and its 32 equivalent within the County for purposes of shift and vacation bidding, transfers within 33 classification, and dates. Seniority is calculated using the rules found in Article 21.II.B. Additional 34 Job Class Seniority rules are as follows:

Job Class Seniority. The total length of accumulated service within the affected job classification and its equivalent within the County for purposes of shift bidding, transfers within classification, and anniversary dates. Part-time service shall count the same as full-time service. Service shall be adjusted for leaves of absence without pay, or layoffs, exceeding 30 days. Accumulated service is terminated by voluntary termination, involuntary termination due to expiration of a recall list, removal from a recall list after layoff pursuant to Art. 21. IV. E. or discharge for cause.

  • Classification Seniority Classification Seniority" is defined as the length of service in a specific job classification within the bargaining unit, beginning with the date an employee starts to serve a probationary appointment. Classification Seniority shall be interrupted only by separation because of resignation, discharge for just cause, failure to return upon expiration of a leave of absence, failure to respond to a recall from layoff, or retirement.

  • SENIORITY Seniority shall be defined as length of continuous employment with the Employer in the bargaining unit.

  • Loss of Seniority An employee shall lose seniority in the event that:

  • Seniority Frozen When an Agency intends to initiate a layoff, the Agency will notify the Union in writing that all seniority will be frozen from the date of notice for a period not to exceed three (3) months. However, during the period when seniority is frozen, the employee will continue to accumulate time towards seniority for purposes of future computations. The three (3) month freeze may be extended by mutual written agreement of the Union and the Agency.
