Preferential Seniority. The Local Union Plant Chairperson and three Shop Stewards shall have top Plant-wide seniority in case of layoff and shall be retained by the Company on work they are willing and able to perform. The Union shall supply a list to the Company with their names and positions.
Preferential Seniority. 15.01 Local Union Office, Union Stewards, Unit Grievor shall have top Hotel Wide seniority in case of layoff and shall be retained by the Employer on work they have the skill and ability to perform. The Union shall provide the Employer with the names of the persons affected and the order in which they are to be recognized.
Preferential Seniority. The Chief Union Xxxxxxx shall have preferential seniority for purposes of layoff and recall. Accordingly, notwithstanding his/her position on the seniority list, the Chief Union Xxxxxxx shall, in the event of a layoff, continue to work so long as there is a job in the District, which he/she is able to perform.
Preferential Seniority. (a) Local Union Officers, namely, Plant Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Recording Secretary, Health and Safety Co-Chairperson, Chief Xxxxxxx and the Grievance Committee shall have top plant-wide seniority in case of lay-off and shall be retained by the Company on work they are willing and able to perform.
(b) Union Officers as referred to above who are retained in employment due to the provisions of (a) above shall only be entitled to job preference based on their natural seniority rating.
Preferential Seniority. A. The following UAW Local representatives, during their term of office, shall, in connection with layoff, recall, reduction or restoration as set out in this Article, head the seniority list: President of the Local Union, Vice President of the Local Union, Committeepersons, Union Time and Union Safety Representatives.
B. All departmental stewards, during their term of office, shall, in connection with layoffs, recall, reduction, or restoration, as set out in this Article, be considered senior, except as provided in Paragraph A of this Section, to other employees in the seniority classification in which they are employed and the department or area they serve as department xxxxxxx.
C. In connection with all of the foregoing paragraphs of this Section, it is understood and agreed that no Union representative, as mentioned in this Section, shall exercise this special seniority status unless they have a minimum of seven (7) months' active employment with the Company, and unless they are qualified to perform the work of the employee they replace. It is further understood and agreed with respect to the Union representatives mentioned in this Section, that upon termination of their duties as Union representatives, they shall be returned to their proper places on the seniority list.
D. The President of the Local Union, Vice President of the Local Union, Union Time Study Representatives, Union Safety Representative and departmental stewards, shall not be sent home because of lack of work while employees whom they represent as Union officials are working in the plant.
Preferential Seniority. Union officers (i.e. President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, and Recording Secretary) and the three elected members of the Union Bargaining Committee shall exercise the highest seniority in the bargaining unit for the purpose of layoffs. This preferential seniority can be used, together with the provisions of this section, to hold a job in the bargaining unit as long as there is work which they are qualified to perform.
Preferential Seniority. The grievance committee person provided for in Article 6 hereof shall, for their respective terms of office, have top seniority rights in their respective departments (or if no work is available in the grievance committeeman’s department, in the area which he represents) for the purpose of layoffs in connection with reduction of working forces therein; provided, however, that such grievance committee person shall not be retained in the employ of the Company unless work which they can perform is available in such area.
Preferential Seniority. The Xxxxxxx provided for in Article 6 hereof shall, for their respective terms of office, have top seniority rights in their respective departments (or if no work is available in the grievance committeeman’s department, in the area which he represents) for the purpose of layoffs in connection with reduction of working forces therein; provided, however, that such Xxxxxxx shall not be retained in the employ of the Company unless work which they can perform is available in such area.
Preferential Seniority. The Chief Xxxxxxx and the Executive Board Members shall, during their term of office in the Union, head the seniority lists in their respective jurisdictions. Such seniority shall apply only with respect to lay-offs.
Preferential Seniority. (a) “Union Officers” shall include: President, Chairpersons, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Certified Health and Safety Representatives, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Representatives and Stewards.
