Leave During Vacation. When an employee is in receipt of Bereavement Leave, or Jury Duty or Sick Leave during his/her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave. The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time. An employee intending to claim displaced vacation leave must advise the Employer and provide necessary documentation within three (3) days of returning to work.

The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time. The provisions of this article do not apply when an employee is on pre-retirement leave in accordance with Clause 11.10 Retirement Allowance, 14.7 Vacation Leave on Retirement and 15.13 Pre-Retirement Leave.

Leave During Vacation. An employee who is eligible for sick leave and who suffers a serious illness or accident while on vacation shall have vacation credits reinstated and shall be placed on sick leave. An employee must advise the Employer of their intention to claim vacation credits within seven (7) days of returning to work.

Leave During Vacation. When an employee suffers a debilitating illness and/or injury of a serious nature while on vacation, which requires inpatient hospitalization or ongoing medical care with the provision of a medical certificate, or bereavement leave, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of absence so displaced shall either be added to the vacation period or reinstated for use at a later date at a mutually agreeable time.
