Leave of Absence For Sickness or Injury. Employees absent due to a bona fide sickness or injury, PROVIDED such sickness or injury is attested to by a licensed physician, shall retain regular employment status. Following a period of twelve (12) months a regular employee shall relinquish their normal regular position with the commitment that once certified capable the employee may use the bumping procedure to be re- employed as a regular employee. It is understood that seniority will cease to accumulate after the twelve (12) months leave.

Leave of Absence For Sickness or Injury. An employee exercising their right under this clause must provide two weeks notice of their desire to return to work and must satisfy the Company and/or its agent(s) that they are capable of returning to work. In the case of an employee whose period of sickness or injury exceeds the time limits of this clause, the Company will consider the medical condition of the employee as it may relate to their employment with the Company and may at its discretion reinstate the employee. An employee who is away from work on a leave of absence for sickness or injury will continue to accumulate seniority.
