Leave to Attend a Funeral. An employee may, on application to their Manager, or delegate, be granted time off with pay to attend a funeral or equivalent service. Where there is a funeral but the employee cannot attend by reason of religion or other protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code, the employee shall be granted time off with pay to attend an equivalent service within a week following the funeral.

Leave to Attend a Funeral. If a death occurs in the immediate family of an employee, a maximum of three (3) days' special leave will be allowed that employee at full pay. If it is necessary that the employee be absent from work for more than three (3) days, such employee will not be paid for time in excess of three (3) days, however, those days will notbe charged to vacation or sick leave. For the purpose of this Section, "immediate family" is defined as the spouse, son, daughter, brother, sister, mother, father, stepmother, stepfather, stepson, stepdaughter, stepsister, stepbrother, step-grandparents, step-grandchildren, mother-in-law, father-in- law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, sister-in- law, brother-in-law, grandparents, and grandchildren of the employee.

Leave to Attend a Funeral. A. Leave to attend a funeral is granted to allow an employee to make arrangements for, or to attend, the funeral or memorial service for an immediate relative who died as the result of a wound, disease, or injury incurred while serving as a member of the armed forces in a combat zone. The Agency shall grant employees such leave as is needed and requested, not to exceed three (3) workdays of excused absence, without loss of or reduction in pay. The three (3) workdays need not be consecutive but if not, the employee shall furnish the approving authority satisfactory reasons justifying a grant of funeral leave for nonconsecutive workdays.

  • Compensation for Unused Sick Leave 1. Employees who enter County service after July 1, 1979, shall not be eligible for compensation for any of their unused sick leave credits.

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.

  • Overtime Meal Employees requested to work more than two (2) hours overtime after completion of their regular shift, will be given one-half (1/2) hour on Company time to eat their lunch and will be given seven dollars ($7.00) meal money.

  • Leave of Absence for Employees Who Serve as Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association An employee who serves as Local Coordinator for the Ontario Nurses' Association shall be granted leave of absence without pay up to a total of thirty-five (35) days annually. Leave of absence for Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association will be separate from the Union leave provided in (a) above.

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.
