Division Director. The intent of Step 1 is to enable the applicable Division Director to address grievances originating in the respective work units under their direction. In order for an alleged grievance to receive consideration under this procedure, the grievant, either alone or with the appropriate Unit Griever, if the former desires, or the Union in cases of policy or class action grievances, must identify, in writing, signed by the grievant and/or the Unit Griever, the alleged grievance to the affected employee's respective Division Director within ten (10) working days after the employee or the Union gains knowledge of the occurrence or facts that gave rise to the grievance. The grievance will identify the particular Articles and Sections of the Agreement that were alleged to have been violated. The respective Division Director will investigate and provide an appropriate answer in writing within ten (10) working days following the date on which the Division Director was presented the written grievance. If the grievance involves the employee's Division Director, the grievance may be filed directly at Step 2 of the grievance procedure.

The Department 8 Director has ninety (90) calendar days from the date they receive the request to review the request 9 and either approve or deny the request for job sharing. Employees who job share one full-time 10 position shall receive pro-rata benefits except medical benefits shall be granted on the same basis as 11 other half-time County employees. In the event that one of the job-sharing employees terminates 12 their employment (voluntarily or involuntarily), the County shall have the following options:

Within ten working days of the Association advancing the grievance to Step 2, the Association Representative and/or designee, the Human Resources Representative and the Division Director shall meet and discuss the issues. The Division Director shall provide a written decision to the Association Representative and the nurse within five working days of the Step 2 meeting.

Division Director. The division director provides administrative oversight to assure the intended agreement fulfills the IDPH mission and public health scope and strategic plans. The division director, or when applicable the State Registrar of Vital Records, will sign the agreement for IDPH. The division director and the State Registrar of Vital Records are the only persons authorized to obligate IDPH data through approval and execution of a DSA.
