Loss of Passport. We will reimburse you for the cost of making a duplicate Passport which is lost or unintentionally and acciden- tally damaged or defaced during the Period of Insurance. The cover includes reasonable extra travel, accommodation and communication expenses you have to pay to get a temporary Passport, the cost of the temporary replacement Passport and the cost of re-stamping visas. You must take reasonable precautions at all times to ensure the safety and supervision of your Passport and you should take all practicable steps to recover it if lost or stolen. If it is lost or stolen while in the care of a carrier, transport company, authority or hotel, you must report to them, in writing, details of the loss or theft and obtain written confirmation. If Passport is lost or stolen whilst in the care of an airline:
a. You must obtain a Property Irregularity Report / Police Report
b. Give formal written notice of the claim to the airline within the time limit contained in their conditions of carriage (Please retain a copy)
c. Retain all travel tickets and tags for submission if a claim is to be made under this Policy
d. Retain receipts for items lost, stolen or damaged as these will help you to substantiate your claim
1. Claims for Valuables and Personal Money in Checked-In Personal Baggage
2. Loss or damage due to delay, confiscation or detention by customs or other authority
3. Partial loss or damage to Checked-In Personal Baggage. However, total loss or damage of an individual unit(s) of baggage shall not be construed as falling within this exclusion
4. Items valued in excess of USD$100 without proof of ownership 5. Depreciation in value or shortages due to error or omission
Loss of Passport. (i) If an Insured Person loses his / her original passport, then the Company will indemnify the Insured Person up to 1% of the Sum Insured specified in the Policy Certificate or Rs. 20,000 (whichever is lesser), towards obtaining a duplicate or new passport.
(ii) The amount assessed by the Company on each admitted Claim for the Insured Person under this Benefit shall be reduced by the Deductible of Rs. 2,500. The Company shall be liable to make payment under the Policy for any Claim in respect of the Insured Person only when the Deductible on that Claim is exhausted.
(iii) Additional Documents to be submitted for any Claim under this Benefit :
a) Copy of the police report
b) Details of the attempts made to trace the passport;
c) Statement of claim for the expenses incurred;
d) Original receipt for payment of charges to the authorities for obtaining a new or duplicate passport.
Loss of Passport. If the Insured loses his passport Overseas, the Insurer will pay the amount up to the Limit of Indemnity towards the Insured’s reasonable expenses incurred in obtaining duplicate or fresh passport either overseas or within 30 days upon return to India. Terms and Conditions
1. The limits under this section are as mentioned in the Schedule of Benefits
2. The Insurer’s liability to make payment is only in excess of the Deductible.
Loss of Passport. If the Insured Xxxxxx loses his/her original passport during the Travel Period, We will pay the legal cost incurred by the Insured Person up to the Sum Insured or a fixed amount, as specified in the Policy Schedule / Certificate of Insurance towards obtaining a duplicate or new passport during the Travel Period. We shall not be liable to pay any expenses under this Benefit for:
a. Any actual or alleged loss or destruction arising from detention, confiscation or distribution by customs, police or other public authorities.
b. Loss which is not reported to the appropriate police authority after the discovery of the loss, and in respect of which an official report has not been obtained.
c. Loss caused by the Insured’s failure to take reasonable steps to guard against the loss of the passport.
Loss of Passport. We will indemnify the reasonable expenses necessarily incurred by the Insured in obtaining a duplicate/temporary passport overseas if the Insured loses his/her passport during the Period of Insurance subject to the deductible specified in the Schedule. Exclusions Applicable to B.6: In addition to General Exclusions, We shall not be liable to make any payment under this Section B.6. directly or indirectly for, caused by, based upon, arising out of or howsoever attributable to any of the following:
a) Loss or damage to the Insured’s passport as a result of the confiscation or detention by customs, police or any other authority.
b) Loss which is not reported to the appropriate police authority within 24 hours of the discovery of the loss, and in respect of which an official report has not been obtained.
c) Loss caused by the Insured’s failure to take reasonable steps to guard against the loss of the passport.
Loss of Passport. (Silver Plan Excluded)
Loss of Passport. 1. Nationals of either Contracting Party holding a valid diplomatic, special or service passport and who lose their passport in the territory of the other Contracting Party shall immediately report that loss to the competent authorities of that Contracting Party, which shall issue them, free of charge, a document attesting to the loss.
2. In the event of the loss of a passport in accordance with the preceding paragraph, the competent diplomatic mission or consular post shall provide its nationals with temporary travel documents allowing them to leave the territory of the other Contracting Party.
Loss of Passport. If the Insured Person's passport is lost or stolen in a Country of Visit whilst on a Trip, the Company shall reimburse the actual expenses necessarily and reasonably incurred in connection with obtaining a duplicate or fresh passport and replacing the lost travel documents, including the issuance of an Emergency Certificate from the concerned consulate, up to the limit of Sum Insured as specified against this Benefit in the Policy Certificate. 1. In case of theft of passport, the incident is to be reported to the police within 24 hours of the Insured Person becoming aware of the theft, and a written police report is to be furnished to the Company.
1. Any refund of tuition fees made or due to Insured Person from his/her existing educational institution shall be adjusted from any amounts payable under this Benefit.
2. In the event of a claim, the Insured Person shall be required to make a written request to the educational institution in which he is studying and obtain a written response in respect of the refund of tuition fees due to the Insured Person. Copies of both the above letters shall be required to be furnished to the Company for processing of a claim under this Benefit. Only the tuition fee amounts mentioned on the official invoice(s) issued by said educational institution and any corresponding statement of refund of fee shall be the basis of settlement of a claim under this Benefit.
2. A Deductible of an amount specified in the Policy Certificate shall be separately applicable for each and every claim made under this Benefit.

Loss of Passport. The Company shall be responsible for the reimbursement of actual expenses up to the amount stated in the schedule which are necessarily and reasonably incurred by the Insured Person in connection with obtaining permits to travel in the event that the Insured Person losses their passport.
