Meal Period and Rest Periods. Regular hours of work for Full-time Employees shall: (a) Include two (2) rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes duration. The rest periods shall occur at the approximate mid-point of each half-shift, unless otherwise agreed between the Employer and Employee involved; and (b) exclude a one-half (½) hour meal period. Meal Period and Rest Periods. All scheduled shifts of eight hours or more for full-time and part-time employees shall have a designated lunch period of between 30 minutes and one hour. There shall be two IS-minute rest periods daily to be scheduled by the Company. One shall be during the second and third hours of the shift and one during the sixth and seventh hours thereof.
Meal Period and Rest Periods. One (1) paid meal period of one (1) hour will be scheduled for each employee working a shift of five (5) hours or more. One (1) paid rest period of fifteen (15) minutes will be allowed to an employee for every four (4) hours of work. Employees who are unable to take their breaks will either be paid at the overtime rates or be able to bank lieu time as per Article 18.

Employees are required to remain on the premises unless authorized by the manager to leave the property during their rest breaks.

A day shift twelve (12) hour Registered Nurse will receive evening shift differential for all hours worked after 3:30 p.m. A twelve (12) hour Registered Nurse working an evening/night twelve (12) hour shift will receive evening shift differential up until midnight and night shift differential from 12:01 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Shift differential will not be included in the base rate for purposes of calculating overtime. Shift differential will be paid only for hours worked and not for any absence or for any paid leave provision identified in the agreement.

  • Meal and Rest Periods Employees shall receive an unpaid thirty (30) minute meal period during each regular workday and two (2) paid rest periods of fifteen (15) minutes each during each eight (8) or ten (10) hour workday. Employees who cannot be relieved of all duties shall be paid at the appropriate rate for their meal period. Meal periods and rest periods shall be administered in accordance with state law. Subject to written mutual agreement meal and/or rest periods may be combined.

  • Lunch and Rest Periods ‌ A. Each employee working more than four (4) hours per day shall be entitled to a minimum of one-half (1/2) hour duty free lunch period without pay. B.   • Rest Period After Overtime (a) When overtime work is necessary, it will, wherever reasonably practicable, be so arranged that employees have at least 10 consecutive hours off duty between the work of successive days or shifts, including overtime. (b) An employee, other than a casual employee, who works so much overtime between the termination of their ordinary work on one day and the commencement of their ordinary work on the next day, that they have not had at least 10 consecutive hours off duty between those times, will be released after completion of such overtime, until they have had 10 consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for ordinary working time occurring during such a absence. (c) If, on the instruction of the employer, an employee resumes or continues to work without having had 10 consecutive hours off duty, they will be paid at the rate of double time until released from duty for such period. The employee will then be entitled to be absent until they have had 10 consecutive hours off duty without loss of pay for rostered ordinary hours occurring during the absence.

  • Meal Periods (a) Meal periods shall be scheduled as close as possible to the middle of the scheduled hours of work. The length of the meal period shall be agreed to at the local level and shall be not less than 30 minutes nor more than 60 minutes. (b) An employee shall be entitled to take their meal period away from the workstation. Where this cannot be done, the meal period shall be considered as time worked.

  • Rest Period During each normal work day, Saturdays, Sundays, and shift work, employees will be entitled to two (2) ten (10) minute paid rest periods to be scheduled and observed. When working a four (4) day, ten (10) hour schedule, the rest period will be fifteen (15) minutes each. - one (1) rest period at the mid-way point of the first half of the normal hours of work; - one (1) rest period at the mid-point of the second half of the normal hours of work. Rest period will be measured from ceasing work to commencement of labour and will be taken at a time determined by the employer.
