Middle and Senior High School. (1) The normal teaching load shall consist of not more than six (6) assigned periods and one (1) conference period per day. A person teaching a seventh (7th) class will be required to spend an extra period in school. Teacher selection for an extra class shall be based on qualifications and seniority. Study hall shall be based on seniority and availability. (2) The teachers in any department in the middle school and high school shall select, with approval of the Administration from their numbers, a department head. In those departments having less than four (4) members, a department head shall be selected from all teachers in similar departments in the District. The department head shall exercise the coordination of programs and materials and shall serve as instructional liaison between the teachers of the department and the Administration. Such department head shall not be considered an executive or supervisory employee. (3) A teacher requested to accept an overload shall be compensated one-seventh (1/7th) of his salary. (4) A teacher may be assigned non-teaching responsibility such as noon supervision or hall duty. This responsibility shall not negate his conference period, but shall be scheduled as a class. (5) A teacher covering a vacant teaching station on a period basis shall be reimbursed as follows: (a) For those individuals who are on Steps 1 through 5 on the Salary Schedule shall be reimbursed at the base rate pay of the BA Salary Schedule. (b) For those individuals who are on Step 6 or above shall be reimbursed at the 6th Step of the BA Salary Schedule. (6) Teachers will be required to be on duty an equivalent of twenty-five (25) minutes before the start of the first class and fifteen (15) minutes after the completion of the last class at the end of the day. Teachers will be available, in addition to this time, for conferences, by appointment, set by the Principal and the teacher. (7) Teachers may be assigned a Middle School homeroom group that will not entail any out-of-school duties. Teachers assigned to High School advisory groups, in addition to six (6) classes, will receive extra-curricular pay as in Appendix B in this Schedule. (8) The Board and Association agree that some supervisory responsibilities are necessary at student functions. Middle and Senior High School. A Head Clerk-Stenographer rating may be made available to secretaries employed in the secondary schools. The employee must be recommended for the promotion by the immediate superior and the Assistant Human Resource Manager on the basis of performance and the duties of the position involved. There may be made available a Principal Clerk- Stenographer, Senior Clerk-Stenographer and as many Clerk-Stenographers as required on the basis of enrollment.   • Geographic Area and Sector Specific Allowances, Conditions and Exceptions The following allowances and conditions shall apply where relevant. Where the Employer does work which falls under the following headings, the Employer agrees to pay and observe the relevant respective conditions and/or exceptions set out below in each case.

  • COVID-19 Vaccine Passports Pursuant to Texas Health and Safety Code, Section 161.0085(c), Contractor certifies that it does not require its customers to provide any documentation certifying the customer’s COVID-19 vaccination or post-transmission recovery on entry to, to gain access to, or to receive service from the Contractor’s business. Contractor acknowledges that such a vaccine or recovery requirement would make Contractor ineligible for a state-funded contract.

  • Transfers and Seniority Outside Bargaining Unit No employee shall be transferred to a position outside the bargaining unit without the employee's consent. If an employee is transferred to a position outside of the bargaining unit, the employee shall retain seniority acquired at the date of leaving the unit, but will not accumulate any further seniority. If such an employee later returns to the bargaining unit, the employee shall be placed in a job consistent with the employee's seniority. Such return shall not result in the layoff or bumping of an employee holding greater seniority.

  • Staff Development Leave (a) An employee will be granted leave without loss of pay, at their basic rate of pay, to take courses (including related examinations) or attend conferences, conventions, seminars, workshops, symposiums or similar out-of-service programs, at the request of the Employer. The amount of pay received by an employee will not exceed the full-time daily hours of work as outlined in Clause 14.2 (Hours of Work). When such leave is granted, the Employer will bear the full cost, including tuition fees, entrance or registration fees, laboratory fees, and course-related books. The Employer will also reimburse the employee for approved travelling, subsistence, and other legitimate, applicable expenses. (b) An employee may be granted leave without pay, with pay, or leave with partial pay, to take work related courses in which the employee wishes to enrol to acquire the skills necessary to enhance opportunities. (c) Approval of requests will be given reasonable consideration and leaves pursuant to this article will be administered in a reasonable manner. (d) Should the employee noted above terminate their employment for any reason during the six month period following completion of the above-noted leave, the employee will reimburse the Employer for all expenses incurred by the Employer (i.e. tuition fees, entrance or registration fees, laboratory fees, and course-required books) on a proportionate basis.

  • Transfer and Seniority Outside the Bargaining Unit (a) It is understood that an employee shall not be transferred by the Hospital to a position outside the bargaining unit without his consent except in the case of temporary assignments not exceeding six (6) months. Such employees on temporary assignments shall remain members of the bargaining unit. (b) An employee who is transferred to a position outside the bargaining unit shall not, subject to (c) below, accumulate seniority. In the event the employee is returned by the Hospital to a position in the bargaining unit within twenty-four (24) months of the transfer he or she shall be credited with the seniority held at the time of transfer and resume accumulation from the date of his or her return to the bargaining unit. An employee not returned to the bargaining unit within 24 months shall forfeit bargaining unit seniority. (c) In the event an employee transferred out of the bargaining unit under (b) above is returned to the bargaining unit within a period of six (6) calendar months, he shall accumulate seniority during the period of time outside the bargaining unit."
