Month Unit Members. 19.1.3.1 Unit Members must submit vacation day requests of more than five (5) days prior to April 30. Unit Members may take vacation of five (5) days or less at any time with prior approval of their site supervisor.
19.1.3.2 Unit Members are encouraged not to take vacation one (1) week before and one (1) week after the first and last day of school.
19.1.3.3 Denial shall not be unreasonable.
19.1.3.4 If the unit member is not permitted to take his/her full annual vacation, the amount not taken shall accumulate for use in the next year, only, or be paid for in cash, at the option of the Governing Board. Under no circumstances will more than twenty (20) days be carried over from one year to the next.
19.1.3.5 At the Unit Member’s request any unused vacation time may be credited to sick leave.
19.1.3.6 All other considerations being equal, in the event of a conflict of requested vacation, seniority will prevail.
Month Unit Members. LEAVES OF ABSENCE
Month Unit Members. Each full-time ten-month unit member shall be entitled to two days of personal leave during each school year to deal with matters that cannot be completed during non- school days or hours. Unit members shall notify the SSP Administrator or the cafeteria manager in sufficient time to permit coverage of the unit member’s responsibilities. Such leave shall not be available on days immediately prior to or after school holidays, and shall not be available during the first or last week that school is in attendance, provided that personal leave may be used during the first week of school to transport children to an institute of higher learning. Unused personal leave shall accumulate as sick leave. Personal leave shall not be used to extend unpaid special occasion leave. Food Service employees may not use personal leave for scheduled work time prior to the start of the school year.
Month Unit Members. A 10-month Unit Member shall receive then (10) months paid (September through June) and two (2) months deferred (the following July and August), unless otherwise specified. An 11-month Unit Member shall receive eleven (11) months paid (August through June) and one (1) month deferred (the following July), unless otherwise specified.
Month Unit Members. Non School-Based and 12-month Unit Members assigned to work on curriculum development, professional development, or other school-system projects to support virtual or hybrid learning models may adjust their work schedules as reasonable under the circumstances with the approval of their supervisor. When work extends beyond 40 hours per week the unit member and supervisor may agree on options in writing to flexibly adjust the unit member’s schedule. Where practical, volunteers may be sought first to complete this work.
Month Unit Members. During emergency school closings when administrative offices are open, 12-month unit members may choose one of the following options: Report to work as scheduled Request the opportunity to flex the arrival/departure time based on the stated circumstances Take personal or annual leave without prior approval Request permission to use unscheduled telework with pay if the unit member has appropriate resources and technology to complete sufficient and appropriate work that can be done at an alternative site. The request to use such teleworking shall be made to the appropriate supervisor at least one hour prior to the scheduled time to report. Such requests shall be favorably considered unless the supervisor has a reasonable basis for doing otherwise. The supervisor may request a summary of the work completed. A supervisor may deny such teleworking based on evidence of misuse by the unit member or to meet identified school system needs. Examples of situations where teleworking may apply include, but are not limited to, the following: When weather conditions prohibit a unit member from traveling from his/her home to the worksite When the work site is inaccessible When the work site is without electricity, heat, water, or is experiencing other facility emergencies.
