Unscheduled Telework. A form of telework that allows employees to telework in response to specific announcements by OPM or other local government deciding/authorizing officials regarding emergency situations. Employees must be CBP Telework ready, notify and seek approval prior to using the unscheduled telework option.
Unscheduled Telework. Unscheduled telework is not scheduled in advance. Unscheduled telework is performed when the Agency announces changes to its operating status, including changes to dismissal and closure procedures pursuant to the, Agency, OPM and/or Federal Executive Board operating status announcements. Any telework- ready employee must perform unscheduled telework, pursuant to Section 17 of this Article.
Unscheduled Telework. A form of situational telework that allows a telework-ready employee to perform work when DLA offices are either:
1. Closed during adverse weather conditions or other emergency situations; or

Unscheduled Telework. Employer has the discretion to authorize “unscheduled telework” on inclement weather workdays. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) defines unscheduled telework as working from home on non-scheduled telework days. Judges are not entitled to unscheduled telework days; the approval is solely at the discretion of management.
Unscheduled Telework. Telework that is authorized in response to specific duty status announcements issued by Office of Personnel Management (OPM) or authorized USDA officials for use during period of inclement weather or other emergency situations, or with prior supervisory approval, telework used to maintain productivity during short-term disruptions to normal operating procedures.
Unscheduled Telework. Unscheduled telework allows a telework-ready employee to perform telework on a day they would normally report to the office when there is an emergency announcement for weather or other unanticipated events. Once the emergency is announced, the Agency may require employees and/or employees will notify their manager of their intention to perform unscheduled telework. An employee who has a Routine Telework Agreement in place may request a Conditional Telework Agreement. Management will review the request and apply the criteria in Section 8. Once the temporary need has ended, the Routine Telework Agreement will normally be reinstated after resubmission, if the Section 8 criteria continue to be met.
Section 6. Unless the Agency determines that there are operational needs for an employee to report to the office, an employee shall not normally be required to schedule a substitute in-office day for days impacted by one the following events: a. Emergency situations preventing the employee from commuting to the Official Worksite (e.g., a severe weather emergency); b. A period of approved absence from work (e.g., leave); c. Any holiday or day in lieu of a holiday defined under Article 28 (Holidays); d. When an employee is temporarily directed to work at a location other than the Recall Address; or e. When the employee is in temporary duty travel status away from the Recall Address. • New language which affirms that, except for operational needs, employees are not required to substitute an in-office day if they are out of the office due to weather, leave, holidays, temporary assignments, or duty travel status.

If a teleworker is not scheduled to telework on an affected day, and unscheduled telework is announced, the employee must utilize the following procedures to receive approval to perform unscheduled telework:
Unscheduled Telework. Ad-hoc or situational telework arrangements that can be used on a temporary basis for allowing telework-ready employees to work from alternative work sites during periods of inclement weather, emergency situations or for encouraging productivity during other short-term agency or employee needs.
