Nature of Grievances. As used in this Article, a “grievance” is defined as any dispute, claim, or complaint involving the interpretation, application, or alleged violation of any provision of this Agreement. A grievance may be filed under this procedure by the ASSOCIATION or by any individual Officer to whom this AGREEMENT applies. A grievance which does not relate to the application and/or interpretation of any provision of this AGREEMENT shall be processed in accordance with a procedure to be established in writing by the Chief of Police. Grievances pending as of the effective date of this AGREEMENT shall be processed under procedures in effect prior to the AGREEMENT. Pending shall mean that the written grievance has been filed.

  • Arbitration of Grievances If a grievance brought under Division B (GRIEVANCES) of this Article is not resolved at Step Three of that procedure, the Association may submit the matter to arbitration. Notice of intent to arbitrate (Appendix D) must be filed with the President of the University within twenty (20) working days of the date of the decision at Step Three. If no notice of intent to arbitrate is filed within the time limit, the right to arbitrate is thereby waived.

  • ADJUSTMENT OF GRIEVANCES 25.01 Any complaint, disagreement or difference of opinion between the Employer and the Union, or the employees covered by this Agreement, which concerns the interpretation, application, operation or alleged violation of the terms and provisions of this Agreement, shall be considered as a grievance.
