Online Instruction. (a) Definition: A Fully Online Courses (FOC) is delivered exclusively over the internet using a Learning Management System. There are no class meetings on campus and all assignments and examinations are submitted online in an asynchronous manner. In a Proctored Online Course (POC) all assignments and examiniations will be submitted online in an asynchronous manner, but tests will be at a proctoring facility. Hybrid Courses (HC) meet both on campus and online. Some of the traditional face-to-face on-campus meetings are replaced with online activities. Web Enhance Courses (WEC) are traditional face-to-face classes that make routine use of the Learning Management System. These courses hold all their meetings on campus. The instructor will post required course materials and/or activities online and may require assignments be turned in online.
Online Instruction. Unit members whose teaching assignment, whether as load or overload, includes online courses, shall receive the same number of hours of sick leave as they would be entitled to had the same course been offered as a full-term, traditionally delivered course, whether during the regular semester or during a winter or summer session.
Online Instruction. For the purposes of this contract, online instruction shall refer to courses that utilize the Internet as the source of access to the course content and communication for the student and faculty member.
Online Instruction. All provisions of this Agreement will apply to employees assigned online student instructional responsibilities unless the District and Association bargain specific exceptions.
Online Instruction. For online courses taught outside the regular teaching load, faculty shall be paid one thirty-sixth (1/36th) of their academic year salary per credit.
Online Instruction. The college recognizes the growing importance of online instruction, including online teaching as well as any course that has online components. Faculty and staff have invested significant amounts of time to develop courses, online degrees, and certificates.
1. If there is need for a course to be created or modified to support a specific degree or certificate, the college may offer faculty a stipend or release time for development through the negotiated process for special assignments agreed upon in the NFA contract.
2. The Web College Department will work with faculty, Deans, and Directors in the development and support of online courses to include design, approaches to online learning as well as adherence to the Faculty Standards for Online Instruction as approved by Faculty Senate.
3. The Web College Department will ensure appropriate training for faculty teaching online is held each semester.
4. Online courses are subject to the same academic discipline standards and management as any course in a traditional classroom setting.
Online Instruction. When an Employee is initially assigned a permanent online class, the Employee will be provided with training that will include, but not be limited to, procedures and methods for conducting an online classroom. For subsequent assignments, upon request, the Employee will be provided with training/refresher training. Training provided outside the contractual day will be compensated according to Article XII,

Online Instruction. Online courses shall be defined as those wherein all the course activity is delivered via a computer, in an asynchronous and/or synchronous environment, in lieu of face-to- face instruction. Such courses have no face-to-face meetings. These courses will be identified as “online” in the University Course Schedule.
Online Instruction. If a teacher whose primary assignment is not at the Online School is assigned to teach one or more online courses, the teacher will use their professional judgment to provide a blend of synchronous and asynchronous instruction. If a teacher assigned to teach one or more online courses requests it, they will be provided access to the following equipment; headset with microphone, document camera, monitor. Class size language applies to online classes.
