Permanent Job Vacancy. When permanent job vacancies occur, or new jobs are created, the vacancies or new jobs shall be posted in all school buildings for five (5) workdays. Written bids must be submitted to the Superintendent or his designees within the above- mentioned five (5) workdays. An employee may not bid on the vacancy which he has created. It is expected that a person applying for a maintenance position at a minimum shall be able to successfully complete all of the tasks listed below. As a portion of the interview process, all candidates may be required to demonstrate successful completion of any of these tasks. The items to be performed will be selected by the district. The Association may have a representative present during the testing process. The hiring decision of the district will be final. Tasks to be completed include, but are not limited to, the following: • Change/replace a light ballast • Change/replace an electrical outlet • Change/replace a light switch • Repair a toilet (diaphragm, lever, remove a clog, etc.) • Repair a sink (replace a washer, clean-out a drain, replace a faucet, etc.) • Perform work on a vehicle (change the battery, change a light bulb, replace a belt, change filters, connect/disconnect the snow plow and salt spreader, etc.) • Perform maintenance on the lawn mowers (change oil, replace filters, sharpen blades, etc.) • Operate the tractor • Perform maintenance on the tractor (change oil, replace filters, etc.) • Install glass block • Install tile Persons wishing to move from custodian to maintenance or maintenance to custodian may only bid into open positions and may not ‘bump’ an employee from their position.

Permanent Job Vacancy. 13.01 Where a permanent vacancy occurs such vacancy will be posted by the Hospital for a period of seven (7) days. All applications shall be made in writing and submitted within the posting period. The Employer shall offer such vacancy to any full-time operators first, part-time operators second and casual operators third, before offering outside of the Bargaining Unit. The employee, who in the opinion of the Hospital, has the skills, ability, and qualifications to perform the work including the ability to attend work regularly, shall be awarded the position. If the above “qualifications are relatively equal” the vacancy shall be awarded to the senior employee.

  • Permanent Layoff The calculation in determining the six (6) month duration of eligibility for an employer contribution begins on the date the employee is permanently laid off or accepts an appointment in lieu of layoff without a break in service with a lesser employer-paid insurance contribution than the employee was receiving in the appointment from which the layoff occurred and is no longer actively employed in the appointment from which the layoff occurred. In the event the employee, while on permanent or seasonal layoff, is rehired to any state job classification with a lesser employer-paid insurance contribution than the employee is receiving under the six (6) months of insurance continuation, the employee shall continue to receive the employer contribution toward the employer-paid insurance for the duration of the six (6) months. However, notwithstanding the paragraph above, in the event the employee successfully claims another state job in any agency and classification which is insurance eligible without a break in service, and is subsequently non-certified or involuntarily separated, the six (6) month duration for the employer contribution toward insurance benefits will begin at the time the employee is non-certified or otherwise involuntarily separated and is no longer actively employed by the Employer. In no event shall an extended benefit eligibility period be longer than a total of six (6) months. Further, an employee must be receiving an Employer Contribution under Section 3 (A) or (B) at the time of layoff in order to be eligible for the six (6) months continuation of insurance.

  • JOB VACANCIES ‌ A vacancy shall be defined as a newly created position, a present position that is not filled, or any position anticipated to be open in the near future for any reason such as, but not limited to, retirement, resignation, etc., if the Employer intends to fill the position. S-14-2 Job vacancies shall be announced on the Human Resources website (xxx.xxxx.xxxxx.xxx). Notice of the change will be sent electronically to the Association President. The notice of vacancy shall contain the following information: (a) position available, (b) minimum qualifications, (c) compensation range paid for the position -, and (d) location of position. Employees shall indicate their desire for consideration via electronic bid format using PeopleAdmin or such similar application as the University may adopt. PeopleAdmin will generate an electronic confirmation number for each application an employee submits. This confirmation number will serve as evidence the application was submitted. The University will provide the use of computer kiosks and assistance if needed to submit an application. Any assistance required for submitting or amending application materials will be available during normal business hours of the bidding period. The employee is responsible for periodic review and update of his/her application material. S-14-4 The Employer shall determine at the earliest possible time whether a vacant position will be filled. If a position is officially eliminated, the Employer will notify the Association within five (5) working days of the decision. The Association may request a Special Conference to discuss this matter. S-14-5 Once a position has been posted with an established application deadline date, the position will be filled at the earliest possible time. The Employer shall notify the Association of situations where unforeseen circumstances may impede the normal selection process. S-14-6 Employees who have supervised students or temporary employees should so note on their application material so that it may be taken into consideration in the screening process. S-14-7 The Employer shall provide to the Association a log listing the ST employees who applied for each vacancy, and the name of the person hired for the position. S-14-8 It is understood that employees, with their supervisor's permission, may be given release time for the purpose of bidding on positions available at the University. Employees may also be given, with their supervisor's permission, release time to interview for the positions. It is understood that supervisors shall be reasonable in granting such requests. S-14-9 In the event of a job opening where shift work is a factor, all employees in the same classification shall have the right to apply for a transfer to the shift in question with the employee having the most seniority in that classification being granted the transfer upon approval of the appropriate administrator. If the transfer is not granted, reasons for the denial shall be provided to the Association and the employee.

  • Temporary Vacancies (a) Vacancies of a temporary nature, which exceed or are expected to exceed three (3) months, shall be posted as per Article 24.1.

If the Employee has a recurrence of the same illness or injury, s/he is required to apply to reopen the previous LTD or WSIB claim, as applicable. The Local union and Local school board agree to continue to cooperate in the implementation and administration of early intervention and safe return to work processes as a component of the Short-Term Leave and Long-Term Disability Plans. In the event the Employee exhausts his/her sick/short-term disability leave allocation from the previous year and continues to work part-time, their salary will be reduced accordingly and a pro-rated sick/short-term allocation for the employee’s working portion of the current year will be provided. The new pro-rated sick/short-term leave allocation may not be used to top-up from part-time to full-time hours. Any changes to hours of work during a fiscal year shall result in an adjustment to the allocation.
