Term Positions. Nurse-initiated mobility applies for voluntary transfers into either a permanent or term position. In the case of a term position, all benefits/seniority, etc. are transferred at the time of employment. Should the nurse not obtain a permanent position in accordance with the new Employer’s collective agreement, all seniority and benefits shall terminate, unless the nurse in turn obtains employment with another MNU Employer in the same or in another Employers Organization where nurse-initiated mobility applies, and within six (6) weeks.
Term Positions. 28.01 Except with prior mutual agreement between the Union and the Employer, no term position may extend beyond three (3) years. Should the Employer wish a term position to extend beyond a period of three (3) years, that position must become a regular position which must be offered to the incumbent of the term position, and his or her seniority shall be the initial date of hire into his or her term position.

Term employees shall not be entitled to severance pay at the conclusion of the employee’s term and have no right of lay-off or recall. Employees, who have been transferred into a position, shall, at the conclusion of the term position, return to their previous position with the Employer. Term employees shall, for twelve (12) months following the expiry of their term of employment, be entitled to priority hiring status for any positions with the Employer for which they are qualified and for which they apply. Article Standby Where the Employer requires employees to be available on standby during off-duty hours, an employee shall be entitled to a standby payment of twelve ($12.00) for each eight (8) consecutive hours or portion thereof that he is on standby, except on scheduled days of rest or designated paid holidays. For any period of standby on regularly scheduled days of rest or designated paid holiday, he shall be paid sixteen ($16.00) for each eight (8) hours or portion thereof that he is required to be on standby status. An employee, designated by letter or by list for standby duty, shall be available during his period of standby at a known telephone number and be available to return for duty as as possible if called. In designating employees for standby, the Employer will endeavour to provide for the equitable distribution of standby duties among readily available, qualified employees who are normally requited, in their regular duties, to perform that work. No standby payment shall be granted if an employee is unable to report for duty when required. An employee on standby who is required to report for work shall be paid, in addition to the standby pay, the appropriate overtime rate for all hours worked. Term Positions. 30.01 Except for term employees hired to fill vacancies arising out of Article 11.10, no term position shall have a stated term of more than two (2) years.
Term Positions. 35.01 No term position shall have a stated term of more than two (2) years, except for term journeyman positions, which may last for such period as is necessary for the apprentice working under the journeyman to finish his apprenticeship, or a term position to replace an employee on leave for a Union position under Clause 13.14.
Term Positions. (k) (i) An employee on recall shall be offered the opportunity to fill a vacant term position at the same or lower salary level and employment status subject to qualifications, knowledge, skill and ability.
Term Positions. Term Positions will be posted and filled in accordance with Articles 34.01, 34.02, and 34.03 of this Agreement. If a Term Position (other than one for the replacement of an employee on maternity/parental leave) exceeds twelve (12) months in duration, it will be converted to a Permanent Position and if the incumbent is a Term Employee the incumbent will be converted to a Permanent Employee (either Part-Time or Full-Time as applicable). A Term Position for the replacement of an employee on maternity/parental leave may be for a duration of up to eighteen (18) months. The Shop Stewards and Union Representative shall be notified at the time the term position is filled, and shall be given the name of the person filling the position, the date of commencement of filling the vacancy, and the expected length of the Term Position.
Term Positions. 16.01 Employees appointed to term positions as defined in 2.01(1) of more than one (1) year's expected duration shall be considered regular Employees and shall be covered by all the terms of this Agreement.
