PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT AND SCHEMATIC DESIGN Sample Clauses

PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT AND SCHEMATIC DESIGN. This phase includes activities required for agency coordination and permit development, non- routine surveys, testing and architectural/engineering preliminary design considerations of a project. Elements of this phase may include development of architectural schematic building designs and reports, non-routine geological and field investigations (soil borings and pavement cores), DCP testing, FWD testing (when used to evaluate pavement as part of a strengthening project), coordination of FAA reimbursable agreements, coordination of utility relocation agreements, coordination of force account activity (must be pre-approved by the Department in writing). The Consultant shall furnish and/or perform engineering reconnaissance necessary for the preparation and development of an engineering report, bidding documents (design plans and specifications) including topographic field surveys, crack surveys, and sampling and testing for routine soils investigations (in accordance with ATTACHMENT JTesting Schedule & ATTACHMENT K – Testing Rates & Cost Summary). This phase will culminate in the submittal of a detailed engineering report with project alternatives and design recommendations and project completion timeline assessment. The Consultant shall furnish an engineering report in accordance with standard practices and the provisions of ATTACHMENT E – Engineering Report. The report will include an analysis of preliminary surveys, geotechnical testing and alternative designs and include final project design recommendations. The project completion timeline assessment will identify necessary effort required to complete the final project design (complete construction plans and specifications). This phase of project development will represent approximately 35% of the project design timeline. Project formulation should be consistent with the TIP submittal and the program letter project description (ATTACHMENT R). If not, identify components that have changed as a result of the preliminary assessment and schematic design analysis. A detailed scope of services shall be attached with anticipated labor effort and costs delineated in ATTACHMENTS A / A1.

  • Schematic Design Documents In accordance with the approved Preliminary Design and Construction Schedule and based upon approval of and comments made by the Owner regarding the Concept Design Studies, the Design Professional shall prepare and submit to the Owner Schematic Design Documents, including drawings and outline specifications. These documents shall represent a further development of the approved design concept, providing additional detail and specificity regarding the intended design solution. Typically, all such documents shall be drawn to scale, indicating materials and assemblies, as appropriate, to convey the design intent and to illustrate the Project’s basic elements, scale and relationship to the Site. All major pieces of furniture and equipment to be fixed or supplied by the CM/GC shall be illustrated to scale. (See ASTM Standard Practice E 1804-02, August 2007, Sections 6.3, 8.2 and 8.3 for guidance on information which is generally developed in Schematic Design.)

  • Schematic Design See Section 2, Part 1, Article 2.1.4, Paragraph 2.1.4.2.

  • Schematic Design Phase INDICATE IN STATEMENT OF WORK “NOT APPLICABLE” IF SECTION IS NOT APPLICABLE

  • Schematic Design Phase Services § 3.2.1 The Architect shall review the program and other information furnished by the Owner, and shall review laws, codes, and regulations applicable to the Architect’s services.

  • Preliminary Design Phase During the Preliminary Design Phase, the CONSULTANT shall, if requested by the CITY and accepted by the CONSULTANT as part of a Services Authorization:

  • Preliminary Engineering In order to receive City review and approval of the Extensions, Developer shall furnish two (2) copies of the plat map, topographic map and proposed roads profile sheets in electronic format prior to the City’s ordering of the engineering plans from its Engineer. The contour elevation and road profile elevations shall be referenced to NAVD ‘88 datum. In the event Developer’s engineer prepares the construction plans and specifications, the above information shall be a part of the extension construction plans to be reviewed and approved by the City’s Engineer. The final plat map shall be to the scale of 1-inch = 20 feet. The contour map shall have a scale of 1-inch = 20 feet and contour intervals of two (2) feet or less. The road profile sheets shall be to the scale of 1-inch = 20 feet. Developer shall provide a minimum of one benchmark, datum being NAVD ‘88, on the project site; and the elevation and location of the benchmark shall be indicated on the maps furnished by Developer.

  • Construction Schedules 10.1 Within seven (7) days of the University’s issuance of a purchase order, the Contractor shall submit to the Project Coordinator three (3) copies of a Construction Schedule for this Project. The Schedule shall be in bar chart form and shall include all aspects of the work, the interrelationship of the various trades and the critical path of the job. The schedule shall include a timeline for the submission, review and approval of shop drawings for critical path items and delivery and installation dates for those same critical path, or long lead time items, (such as electrical transformers and elevator). The Schedule shall coincide with the Contractor’s approved Schedule of Values. The Schedule shall indicate a completion date in advance of the date established for Substantial Completion. The Schedule shall be acceptable to the Architect/Engineer and the Project Coordinator. It shall be revised and reissued at the beginning of every month for the duration of the project. This monthly update progress Schedule shall include a summary comparison of the original schedule and the latest updated schedule (previous month) showing all activity description and dates. These comparison schedules shall be in the form of a summary bar chart, an activity listing report and actual to target comparisons. The reports may include critical activities, float time, duration of each activity, dates of each activity and the network logic (including successors and predecessors of each activity). Included with the written report and electronic copy of the schedule submission noting the above referenced requirements. Failure to provide the Architect/Engineer, or the Project Coordinator with an acceptable, revised Schedule, within seven (7) days of the receipt of a written request, may result in the withholding of the Contractor’s monthly progress payments until such a Schedule is received.
