PROCEDURES FOR REQUESTING ASSISTANCE. Requests for assistance shall be made by the Authorized Representative of a party to the Authorized Representative of the other party through the emergency dispatch center. Such request must indicate that it is made pursuant to this Agreement.
PROCEDURES FOR REQUESTING ASSISTANCE. IN THE EVENT THAT A PARTY TO THIS AGREEMENT IS IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE AS SET FORTH ABOVE, AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE AGENCY REQUESTING ASSISTANCE SHALL NOTIFY THE AGENCY HEAD OR HIS/HER DESIGNEE FROM WHOM SUCH ASSISTANCE IS REQUESTED. THE AGENCY HEAD OR AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE WHOSE ASSISTANCE IS SOUGHT SHALL EVALUATE THE SITUATION AND THE AGENCY’S AVAILABLE RESOURCES, CONSULT WITH HIS/HER SUPERVISOR IF NECESSARY AND WILL RESPOND IN A MANNER HE/SHE DEEMS APPROPRIATE. THE AGENCY HEAD IN WHOSE JURISDICTION ASSISTANCE IS BEING RENDERED MAY DETERMINE WHO IS AUTHORIZED TO LEND ASSISTANCE IN HIS/HER JURISDICTION, FOR HOW LONG SUCH ASSISTANCE IS AUTHORIZED AND FOR WHAT PURPOSE SUCH AUTHORITY IS GRANTED. THIS AUTHORITY MAY BE GRANTED EITHER VERBALLY OR IN WRITING AS THE PARTICULAR SITUATION DICTATES. SHOULD A SWORN LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER BE IN ANOTHER SUBSCRIBED AGENCY’S JURISDICTION FOR MATTERS OF A ROUTINE NATURE, SUCH AS TRAVELING THROUGH THE JURISDICTION ON ROUTINE BUSINESS, ATTENDING A MEETING OR GOING TO OR FROM WORK OR TRANSPORTING A PRISONER AND A VIOLATION OF FLORIDA STATE STATUTE OCCURS IN THE PRESENCE OF SAID PARTY, REPRESENTING AGENCY, HE/SHE SHALL BE EMPOWERED TO RENDER ENFORCEMENT AND ACT IN ACCORDANCE WITH LAW. SHOULD ENFORCEMENT ACTION BE TAKEN, SAID PARTY SHALL NOTIFY THE AGENCY HAVING NORMAL JURISDICTION AND UPON THE LATTER’S ARRIVAL, TURN THE SITUATION OVER TO THEM AND OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE REQUESTED, INCLUDING, NOT LIMITED TO, A FOLLOW-UP WRITTEN REPORT DOCUMENTING THE EVENTS AND THE ACTIONS TAKEN. THIS PROVISION SO PRESCRIBED IN THIS PARAGRAPH IS NOT INTENDED TO GRANT GENERAL AUTHORITY TO CONDUCT INVESTIGATIONS, SERVE WARRANTS AND/OR SUBPOENAS OR TO RESPOND WITHOUT REQUEST TO EMERGENCIES ALREADY ADDRESSED BY THE AGENCY OR NORMAL JURISDICTION, BUT IS INTENDED TO ADDRESS CRITICAL, LIFE-THREATENING OR PUBLIC SAFETY SITUATIONS, PREVENT BODILY INJURY TO CITIZENS, OR SECURE APPREHENSION OF CRIMINALS WHOM LAW ENFORCEMENT MAY ENCOUNTER.

When Recipient becomes affected by a disaster and deems its resources inadequate, it may request mutual aid and assistance by communicating the request to Provider, indicating the request is made pursuant to this mutual aid agreement. The request shall be followed as soon as practicable by a written confirmation of that request, including the transmission of a proclamation of local state of emergency under G.S. 166A-19.22, and a completed form describing its projected needs in light of the disaster. All requests for mutual aid and assistance shall be transmitted by the party's Authorized Representative or to the Coordinator of the Local Agency as set forth below.

A. METHOD OF REQUEST FOR MUTUAL AID AND ASSISTANCE: Recipient shall set forth requests as follows:
(i) REQUESTS ROUTED THROUGH THE RECIPIENT'S LOCAL AGENCY: Recipient may directly contact the Local Agency, in which case it shall provide the Local Agency with the information in paragraph B of this Section (Section III). The Local Agency shall then contact other parties on behalf of Recipient to coordinate the provision of mutual aid and assistance. Recipient shall be responsible for the costs and expenses incurred by any Provider in providing aid and assistance pursuant to Section VII of this Agreement.
(ii) REQUESTS MADE DIRECTLY TO PROVIDER: Recipient may directly contact Provider's authorized representative, setting forth the information in paragraph B of this Section (Section III). All communications shall be conducted directly between Recipient and Provider. Recipient shall be responsible for the costs and expenses incurred by any Provider in providing aid and assistance pursuant to the provisions of this Agreement as noted in Section VII of this Agreement. Provider and Recipient shall be responsible for keeping Local Agencies advised of the status of response activities, in a timely manner.
(iii) RECORD OF REQUESTS TO BE PROVIDED: A record of the request for assistance shall be provided by the Recipient to the Director of the Division of Emergency Management in the NC Department of Public Safety, in a timely manner.
PROCEDURES FOR REQUESTING ASSISTANCE. A Requesting Party which needs assistance in excess of its own resources and existing automatic mutual aid or local mutual aid due to an emergency is authorized to request assistance from any party to this Compact. However, when making such requests, consideration shall be given to, and requests made, based on, but not limited to, the geographical proximity of other jurisdictions with that of the jurisdiction requesting assistance. All requests for assistance from the State must be coordinated through the Requesting Party’s county emergency operations center, or tribal emergency operations center (whichever is applicable). Requests should specify what the emergency is, what resources are needed and the estimated period of time during which such mutual aid shall be required, if known. Please use the Resource Request form provided in Appendix A.
PROCEDURES FOR REQUESTING ASSISTANCE. In the event that either party to this agreement is in need of assistance as set forth above, an authorized representative of the agency requesting assistance shall notify the agency head or his/her designee from whom such assistance is requested. The agency head or authorized agency representative whose assistance is sought shall evaluate the situation and the agency’s available resources, consult with his/her supervisors, if necessary, and respond in an appropriate manner. The agency head in whose jurisdiction assistance is being rendered may determine who is authorized to lend assistance under this mutual aid agreement in his/her jurisdiction, for how long such assistance is authorized and for what purpose such authority is granted. This authority may be granted either verbally or in writing as the particular situation dictates. No officer or appointee shall be empowered under this agreement without prior approval of the agency head having normal jurisdiction and the agency head’s decision in these matters shall be final. Under exigent circumstances, such as the observation of a serious public safety hazard or witnessing a violation of a felony criminal statute which a reasonable law enforcement officer would deem to merit an immediate response, action may be taken to mitigate a dangerous circumstance or apprehend a suspect prior to receiving authorization, provided that approval shall be sought as soon as possible. No provision of this mutual aid agreement shall impair any of the jurisdictional powers of either agency in non-mutual aid situations.
PROCEDURES FOR REQUESTING ASSISTANCE. Mutual aid and assistance shall not be requested unless Recipient deems the resources available within the stricken area inadequate. When Recipient becomes affected by a disaster and deems its resources inadequate to rectify the given situation, it may request mutual aid and assistance by communicating the request directly to one or more Providers on the Mutual Aid Resource List, indicating the request is made pursuant to this Agreement. The request shall be followed as soon as practicable by a written confirmation of that request. All requests for mutual aid and assistance shall be transmitted as set forth below.
A. METHOD OF REQUEST FOR MUTUAL AID AND ASSISTANCE: Recipient shall directly contact Provider's authorized representative, setting forth the information in paragraph B of this Section. All communications shall be conducted directly between Recipient and Provider. Recipient shall be responsible for the costs and expenses incurred by all Providers providing aid and assistance pursuant to the provisions of this Agreement as noted in Section VIII of this Agreement.
PROCEDURES FOR REQUESTING ASSISTANCE. (i) Mutual aid and assistance shall not be requested unless Recipient deems its resources are inadequate to respond to an imminent or actual emergency. When Recipient becomes affected by an emergency, incident or planned event and deems its resources inadequate, it may request mutual aid and assistance by communicating the request to Provider, indicating the request is made pursuant to this Agreement. The request shall be followed up with a notification to the Division of Emergency Management’s 24-Hour Watch whether directly, through WebEOC, or through the appropriate Division of Emergency Management Operations Regional Branch. The Division shall maintain a record of the notification.
