Red Circling. Employees who, for reasons set out in this Article, are placed in a position having a lower salary range than for their former position, shall retain their salary. If their salary is higher than the range for the position, they shall be red circled until such time as the difference between the maximum for the range and their salary is removed.
Red Circling. 4.2.1 In the event that the Employer initiates the transfer of a principal or vice-principal and such transfer results in an administrative allowance that is less than the allowance the principal or vice-principal currently receives, the Employer will maintain the higher allowance payment for three (3) school years. For transfers that become effective following commencement of a school year, the higher administrative allowance will be paid for the remainder of that school year and the following three (3) school years. This shall not apply if the principal or vice-principal requests the transfer.
Red Circling. A displaced employee filling a lower rated position under Article 19.03 shall continue to be paid at her current rate of pay until the rate of pay in the new position equals or exceeds it with the exception of displaced employees choosing to bump rather than accepting a vacancy within their own classification, which they are qualified and capable to perform. Such employees shall assume the rate of the position into which they bump.
Red Circling. 4.3.1 Any principal or vice principal who is transferred as a result of a School Division request shall retain the same administrative allowance that was in effect at the time of the transfer until such time as the provisions of the collective agreement result in an increased allowance.
Red Circling. 4.3.1 In the event the superintendent transfers a principal or vice principal and such transfer results in an administrative allowance that is less than the allowance the principal or vice principal currently receives, the current allowance shall be maintained until the lower allowance matches or surpasses the current allowance. This shall not apply if the principal or vice principal requests a transfer.
4.3.2 Where the superintendent agrees to the secondment of a principal, vice principal, Division Co-ordinator or Division Supervisor to another school division, such teacher shall, upon return to the School Division within three (3) years of secondment commencement, continue to receive the same administrative allowance received immediately prior to the secondment. Once the secondment is approved, notification will be provided to the Chair of the Local Association Teacher Welfare Committee.
Red Circling. If an employee’s regular rate of pay exceeds the maximum salary of their current job classification, this employee shall not be eligible for any negotiated increases until such time as the maximum salary for their current classification meets or exceeds their regular rate of pay.
Red Circling. Red-circling occurs when the new pay grade for a classification is lower than the old pay grade.
Red Circling. 4.2.1 In the case that the Superintendent or designate transfers an administrator, the affected administrator’s administrative allowance shall not be reduced below their current administrative allowance for two school years following the transfer.
4.2.2 If the administrator requests a transfer or applies to an open position, the affected administrator’s administrative allowance shall be paid at the rate prescribed in Clause 4.1.1.
Red Circling. 4.3.1 No decrease shall hereafter be made in the salary of a Principal in consequence of a reduction in the staff of his or her school, if such Principal has been employed continuously in the service of the Board for a period of not less than twenty (20) years nor, in other cases, until such time as it appears to the satisfaction of the Board that such reduction is likely to be of considerable duration.
4.3.2 No teacher shall suffer a loss of salary and administrative allowance(s) due only to any reorganization or Board initiated transfer taking place during the currency of this agreement. If an administrative appointment is terminated as a result of a reorganization, the salary and allowances of the affected teacher shall be red circled for a period of up to three (3) years from the date of reorganization.
4.3.3 Red circling or Board initiated transfer means the maintenance of the teacher’s salary and allowance(s) prior to the reorganization or board initiated transfer until such time as the teacher’s salary and applicable allowance(s) under the collective agreement exceed the red circled amount or the expiry of three (3) years, whichever occurs first.
Red Circling. No principal or assistant principal shall have their allowance reduced by reason of implementation of clause 4.2 unless the number of students is reduced, in which case, the allowance shall be reduced accordingly.
