REEMPLOYED EMPLOYEES. Employees reemployed within two (2) years after the termination of their employment due to a reduction in force or due to the expiration of a temporary contract may be placed on the appropriate salary schedule at a level higher than Step Eight if they are reemployed in the same or equivalent position.

REEMPLOYED EMPLOYEES. Employees reemployed after separation, resignation, or retirement will be subject to a one (1) year probationary period, beginning upon their re-hire date with the Fire Department. During the probationary period, the employee’s employment may be terminated without the right of appeal to the grievance procedure. Employees hired back from a reemployment list due to layoff will not have a probationary period unless they did not complete their initial probationary period prior to layoff. Employees without a probationary period will have the right to appeal any discipline, demotion, or discharge to the grievance procedure.
REEMPLOYED EMPLOYEES. (1) Those who had been laid off, but still retain their 1600 Seniority and Company Service, will be given the salary table rate to which they are entitled by a consideration of their Company Service. First step if Company Service is less than one (1) year; second step if Company Service is one (1) year or more but less than 5 years; third step if Company Service is five (5) years or more.
