ASSOCIATION PRIVILEGES. A. Building representatives of the Association in each building may use the designated bulletin board space as approved by the building principal to post notices for Association concerns. Such notices shall be limited to the following: 1. Association meetings. 2. Association elections and appointments. 3. Results of Association elections. 4. Recreational and social events of the Association. 5. General communications relevant to the Association. The building principal and Superintendent will direct building representatives to remove inappropriate materials from bulletin boards. B. Representatives of the Association, with prior approval from the building principals, may make announcements during school faculty meetings either at the beginning or ending of such meetings. C. Representatives may make announcements over the building public address system before and after the student day after notifying the building principal. D. The Association President shall receive notice of any scheduled Board meetings and will receive the agenda of regularly scheduled meetings at the same time as the members of the Board of Education. E. Any employee of the teaching staff may request to speak to the Board in compliance with Board policy governing addressing the Board in public session. F. Personnel directories, which includes the telephone number for the administrators’ District-provided cell phone number, will be published on the District Directory. Such directory shall be updated at least quarterly. The Personnel directory shall include, at a minimum, the employee's name, assigned building, assigned position, and if a bargaining unit member, the content or grade level being taught. G. The President of the Association may, upon notification to and approval by the Superintendent, address unit members during staff development days at the beginning of each school year. H. The Association building representative, upon notification to the building principal, may use individual school equipment. The Association will have the right to use school buildings at reasonable times for meetings provided prior approval is received from the building principal. All equipment will be checked as to condition by the building principal prior to its use so that in the event of damage or breakage, the Association will be responsible to repair or replace at pro-rated market value. ASSOCIATION PRIVILEGES. X. Xxxx authorized representatives of the Association shall be permitted to transact official Association business on college property at reasonable times provided that classroom time, office time or other college activities are not interrupted. B. The Board agrees to furnish to the Association, upon request, all records, free of charge, to which it is entitled by law. C. The Association shall have the right to post notices of activities and matters of Association concern on employee bulletin boards at least one of which shall be provided by the Board in each faculty lounge. The Association shall have the use of employee mail boxes for the dissemination of communications to faculty. Copies of all communications distributed to a majority of the membership will be provided at the same time to the Chief Business Officer. D. Within thirty (30) days after receipt of written authorization from the Professional Employee, the Board shall deduct from the salary of the employee and make appropriate remittance for Association dues. Such authorization shall continue in effect from year-to-year. Pursuant to such authorization the Board shall deduct one-ninth (1/9) or appropriate amount of such dues from the regular salary check of the Professional Employee from September through May. Amounts to be deducted shall be supplied to the Board through a schedule established by the Association. Any balance due upon the Professional Employee's termination of employment shall be deducted from such individual's final check. Prior authorizations existing on the effective date of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect until revoked in writing by the Professional Employee. The Association shall indemnify and hold harmless the Board of Trustees from any and all claims, demands, suits, or other forms of liability (including specifically costs and attorney fees) that may arise out of or by any reason of any action taken or not taken by the Board for the purposes of complying with the provisions of this paragraph or the authorization form. E. The Association shall have the right to use school facilities and equipment including, but not limited to, computers, photocopying equipment, printers, and audio-visual equipment when such equipment is not otherwise in use. ASSOCIATION PRIVILEGES. All rights and privileges granted to the Association under the terms and provisions of this Agreement shall be for the exclusive use of the Association.
ASSOCIATION PRIVILEGES. Association officers and delegates may request leave to attend OEA/NEA seminars, workshops or conventions. Employee expenses related to these events shall not be reimbursed by the District. Employees may request paid Professional leave. The District shall allow no more than 30 person-days total each year for professional leave of this nature. The District will approve requests for Professional leave provided that: A. Leave is for the purpose of an OEA/NEA sponsored event open to the OEA/NEA membership at large, and B. No one Association officer or delegate shall use more than 6 days at 8 hours per day of professional leave for this purpose in a year, C. No one Association officer or delegate shall use more than 2 consecutive days at 8 hours per day for any one event, with the exception of the NEA national convention, and D. The request for leave is received no less than 10 days in advance Employees may also request Personal Business leave or Vacation leave for this purpose. The District shall allow Association members to attend general meetings of the Association and Association officers to attend Executive Board meetings provided the meetings are scheduled at 4:00 p.m. or after and sufficient notice is given the appropriate administrators. Partial crews will be required to perform necessary functions. Non-exempt employees will be allowed to adjust their work schedule on the day of the meeting in order to attend. Supervisors will permit this schedule adjustment as long as business needs allow. The Association shall have the right to use designated areas in school buildings for meetings of employees provided there is not interference with any scheduled school activities. The use of such designated areas shall be arranged with the Director or his/her designee in advance. All requests for building use shall conform to the District Rules and Regulations. The Association shall have the right to bulletin board space of at least nine (9) square feet, but not more than twelve (12) square feet in area, for the purpose of posting materials dealing with proper and legitimate business of the Association. Such board shall be places in a well-lighted area in the office or teachers’ lounge. In school buildings which do not have bulletin boards for the purpose, the Association shall have the right to provide them. ASSOCIATION PRIVILEGES. The recognized bargaining agent for the professional employees of USD 358 is granted the following privileges: 1. The Association may be allowed the use of school facilities and equipment with prior notification or, if needed, approval of the building administrator or superintendent. The Association has the right to use mailboxes (including district email system) for distribution of materials and information, designated bulletin board space in the workrooms or each attendance center. 2. Within thirty (30) days after receipt of written authorization from the teacher, the Board shall deduct from the salary of the employee and make appropriate remittance for Association dues. Such authorization shall continue in effect from year to year. Pursuant to such authorization, the Board shall deduct one-twelfth (1/12) or appropriate amount of such dues from the regular salary check of the employee each month. Amounts to be deducted shall be supplied the Board through a schedule established by the Association. Any balance due upon the employee’s termination of employment shall be deducted from such individual’s final check. Prior authorizations existing on the effective date of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect into this and successor agreements unless and until revoked in writing by the employee between July 15 and August 1 of any school year. The Board shall transmit to the Association the total monthly deduction for the professional dues within ten (10) days following each regular period with a listing of the employees for whom the deduction was made.
ASSOCIATION PRIVILEGES. The Association shall be accorded the following privileges: A. Use of bulletin boards for Association information. B. Use of public address systems in the schools to convey messages to the bargaining unit. C. Use of regular daily inter-school communication systems, but only within the District. D. The privileges set forth in Article 35, Sections A, B, and C may be exercised as rights so long as the exercise of such rights does not disrupt or interfere with school activities or bargaining unit member’s job duties. E. The Association President shall receive a copy of the agenda for each Board meeting for which an agenda is prepared. He shall be sent a copy at the same time a copy is sent to the Board members. F. A directory of the bargaining unit, including addresses, phone numbers, place(s) of employment, job classification(s)/level(s), and number of contracted hours, shall be given to the Association President quarterly. The aforementioned directory information will be given to the Association President within ten (10) days for any bargaining unit member being newly hired or having a change in classification/level or contracted hours. G. The Association President, or designee, shall be informed of any resignation, retirement, or a leave of absence lasting half their contracted days or more. This should be done at the earliest knowledge of such change, but shall be done within ten (10) days of knowledge of such change. H. The school calendar will be determined by mutual agreement as a separate item and will be established by January 1, two (2) years in advance. If the parties fail to reach agreement, the Board will make the final determination. Any changes in the agreed to school calendar must be negotiated between the Board and Association, unless there is insufficient time to conduct negotiations, in which case every reasonable attempt will be made to contract and consult with the Association prior to any change.

ASSOCIATION PRIVILEGES. 3-1 The president of the Association shall have the right to call meetings of the teachers in the school or schools of the District as he/she deems necessary, but shall arrange for such meetings in advance with the Principal of the School. Such meetings shall not interfere with the normal school operations. 3-2 The president and authorized Association representative(s) shall have an aggregate of fifteen (15) days of leave with pay each year for conducting Association business in addition to leave allowed according to Idaho Code. This leave is to allow the Association release time to deal with matters outside of the District. Leave will be granted upon notification to the District office. The Association shall pay for the cost of substitutes for the last four (4) days of this leave. 3-3 The Association will have the right to use school facilities, buildings and current technology without cost as approved by the appropriate administrative office, provided that such meetings and activities do not interfere with the normal operation of the school. Any copying, etc., will be charged at the current rate. 3-4 The Association will have the right to place notices, circulars, and other material on designated school bulletin boards and/or in teachers’ or administrators’ mailboxes relating to Association business and not derogatory to the School District and/or its personnel. 3-5 The Board agrees to deduct from employees’ salaries an amount to cover dues for the Association, the Idaho Education Association, and the National Education Association as the employees individually and voluntarily authorize the Board to deduct, and to transmit the amount so authorized to the Association.
ASSOCIATION PRIVILEGES. The Association may use school facilities for meetings of the Association. The Association shall be permitted to distribute information related to the official business of the Association by school email, placing it in the mail box of individual teachers at each school and will be permitted to place material on a designated bulletin board in each school. Such material shall not suggest, urge or propose any action by a teacher to violate, ignore, or resist any term of this agreement, Board policy, or administrative regulation. Prior to each School Board meeting the president of the association shall receive a copy of the packet provided to the School Board members, if one is provided, excluding those items relating to personnel or legal issues that are confidential.
ASSOCIATION PRIVILEGES. The Association shall have the right to use school buildings for meetings. School District use will take priority over Association use. The Association will make arrangements with the building principal prior to use. In the case of district facilities, arrangements will be made three (3) days in advance of use to prevent scheduling conflicts.
