Reinstatement Following Military Service. Permanent employees, who leave the City's service to enter the Military Service, are reinstated to the same or comparable positions, if they receive honorable discharges and apply for employment within ninety (90) days from the time of separation.

Reinstatement Following Military Service. Employees now serving in the Armed Forces of the United States or employees who shall hereafter serve in the Armed Forces of the United States shall be entitled to reinstatement upon the completion of such service to the extent and under the circumstances that reinstatement may be required by the applicable laws of the United States, provided that any employee whose discharge from service is other than dishonorable, shall be accorded the same reinstatement rights as such laws provide in the case of persons honorably discharged. If the employee is unable to apply for reinstatement by reason of physical disability during the period within which such application is required by law to be made, application must be made within ninety (90) days from the time such disability is ended. For the purpose of this Section, it is understood that none of the employees covered by this Agreement has been or is employed in a temporary position within the meaning of that term as used in the applicable laws of the United States, and that probationary employees shall be entitled to credit for the period of such service toward the completion of the probationary period as well as the accumulation of seniority thereafter.
Reinstatement Following Military Service. Any employee who by reason of service with the Armed Forces of the United States is not on the active employment rolls of the Company in the year immediately prior to his or her vacation eligibility date, but is reinstated on such records as a full-time employee during the ensuing year, shall be entitled to vacation benefits for the vacation period during which he or she is reinstated in accordance with the following:

  • Reinstatement after Leave An employee on an approved leave of absence is required to contact the Appointing Authority if an extension is being requested. Failure to contact the Appointing Authority about an extension prior to the end of the approved leave shall be deemed to be a voluntary resignation, and the employee shall be severed from State service. The Local Union and the Appointing Authority may agree to waive the five (5) month reassignment restriction in order to temporarily fill the position of an employee on unpaid Military Leave until s/he returns from active duty. Any employee returning from an approved leave of absence as covered by this Article shall be entitled to return to employment in his/her former position or another position in his/her former class/class option in his/her seniority unit, or a position of comparable duties and pay within his/her seniority unit. Employees returning from extended leaves of absence (one (1) month or more) shall notify their Appointing Authority at least two (2) weeks prior to their return from leave. Employees may return to work prior to the agreed upon termination date with the approval of the Appointing Authority. Employees returning from an unpaid leave of absence shall be returned at the same rate of pay the employee had been receiving at the time the leave of absence commenced plus any automatic adjustments that would have been made had the employee been continuously employed during the period of absence.   • Reinstatement from Leave Upon completion of a leave of absence, the employee is to be returned to the position formerly occupied, or to a similar position if the employee's former position no longer exists. Any replacement in the position while an employee is on leave is to be on a temporary basis.

  • REAPPOINTMENT AFTER ABSENCE DUE TO CHILDCARE a) Employees who resign to care for a dependent pre-school child or children may apply to their former employer for preferential appointment to a position which is substantially the same in character and at the same or lower grading as the position previously held.

  • Annual Leave Accrual If an employee leaves State Classified employment and is later rehired, he/she shall accrue annual leave at the same rate as a new hire. However, once a rehired employee has been in pay status for five (5) years, all previous service time shall be credited for annual leave accrual. The only exception shall be for employees rehired who repay severance pay received.

  • MATERNITY-RELATED REASSIGNMENT OR LEAVE (a) An employee who is pregnant or nursing may, during the period from the beginning of pregnancy to the end of the fifty-second (52nd) week following the birth, request the Council to modify her job functions or reassign her to another job if, by reason of the pregnancy or nursing, continuing any of her current functions may pose a risk to her health or that of the foetus or child.

  • Reinstatement of Vacation Days - Sick Leave In the event an employee is sick or injured prior to the commencement of his/her vacation, such employee shall be granted sick leave and the vacation period so displaced shall be added to the vacation period if requested by the employee and by mutual agreement, or shall be reinstated for use at a later date.

  • Payment of Annual Leave on Termination On the termination of their employment, an employee will be paid their untaken or pro-rata annual leave.

  • Unpaid Leave - After Three Years For every three (3) years' continuous service, an employee may request, in writing, an extended unpaid leave of absence, giving the longest possible advance notice. Every reasonable effort shall be made to comply with such requests providing that replacements to ensure proper operation of the Employer's business can be found. Notice of the Employer's decision shall be in writing.

  • Personal Leave Accrual All employees shall accrue personal leave at the rate of one and twenty-three hundredths (1.23) hours for each eighty (80) hours in active pay status, excluding overtime hours, not to exceed a total of thirty-two (32) hours accrued in one year.
