Release Time and Pay Status. 1. Whenever an arbitration hearing or a meeting convened to resolve the arbitration is scheduled during the regular work time of a Resident who is a grievant, representative, or witness, reasonable release time with pay shall be granted to such Resident(s) involved so long as a written request for release time is received at least 24 hours in advance by the Director of Labor Relations or designee.

Whenever an arbitration hearing or a meeting between the parties is convened to resolve an arbitration during the regular work time of an employee who is a grievant or a representative, release time with pay shall be granted to the employee(s) and one representative involved in said hearing or meeting so long as a request for release time is received at one (1) University business day in advance. For purposes of release time, it shall be assumed the employee is a day shift employee.

  • Release Time A. The Employer will approve paid release time for a reasonable number of employee representatives who are scheduled to work during the time negotiations are being conducted, provided the absence of the employee will not interfere with the operating needs of the University. The Employer will approve compensatory time, vacation leave or leave without pay for additional employee representatives provided the absence of the employee will not interfere with the operating needs of the University.

  • Pay Status An aggrieved employee and the Union Delegate shall be in a pay status during those working hours in which a grievance, a grievance mediation, or an arbitration hearing is held.
