Shift Employee by non-shift employee is a shift employee from time of call-out and accepts shift hours and working conditions and remains on shift until s/he completes a forty (40) hour week, completes the shift week or is released by the return of the Shift Employee; whichever comes first. Relief required on other than prearranged absence is supplied for day shift by non-shift employee and for evening or night shift by shift employee.

Shift Employee. An employee whose daily hours of work rotate from one (1) shift to another periodically and whose duties are continuous from the start to the end of the shift.
Shift Employee. Should the employee work rotating shift patterns or work qualifying shifts they shall be entitled, on completion of 12 months employment on shift work, to up to an additional 5 days annual leave, based on the number of qualifying shifts worked. The entitlement will be calculated on the annual leave anniversary date. Shift Employee. The workweek shall begin at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday and end at 6:30 a.m. on the following Sunday; a workday shall consist of a twenty-four (24) hour period commencing at 6:30 a.m.

Shifts shall rotate or alternate on a regular basis and if at any time an employee is changed from one shift to another without notification at least 72h before the effective time of the change, the employee shall be paid at double the regular rate of pay for all hours worked on the changed hours until 72h following notification time has elapsed. i) changes are made as a result of employee arrangements and requests; ii) because of plants going on standby or on a cycling operation, an employee is changed (for a temporary period) from working shifts on a rotation basis to day shifts only; iii) on spare shift rotation. Employees on spare shift rotation shall be available for the purpose of relieving other shift employees during their days of rest, but will also be required to relieve shift and day employees during annual vacation leaves, sick leaves, leaves of absence, etc. Such employees may perform the work of any classification for which they are qualified when working on day shift. However, if transferred to an afternoon or night shift, they will work within their classification unless either operational requirements or equipment breakdown occurring after the shift change has been issued necessitates their re-assignment to a position of an equal or lesser rate of pay. While on the spare shift segment of the shift schedule, a shift employee can be assigned to any shift without premium pay, it being understood that employees required to work in excess of eight (8) consecutive hours will receive the applicable over time rates for all such excess time in accordance with Article 19.

  • An Employee once sent on annual leave shall not be recalled for duty except by mutual agreement between the Employer and Employee.

  • New Employee (a) (i) Unless the Parties agree, in writing, to an extension of the probationary period, all Employees who work greater than twenty-four (24) hours per week shall be considered probationary for a period of up to three (3) calendar months following date of appointment to the University.

  • Replacement Employee Should a replacement Employee be engaged, the replacement Employee is to be informed prior to engagement of the fixed term nature of the employment and of the rights of the Employee, who is being replaced, including that the engagement may be subject to variation according to 6.10.3 (d) and ability to extend unpaid Maternity Leave as provided for under sub-clause 6.10.10.

  • Casual Employee Casual employee shall mean an individual who is hired on a job contract or on an hourly basis for unscheduled or irregular work. The only provisions of this Agreement applying to the employment of casual employees are contained in Schedule B.
