Employee Release Time. An employee shall be entitled to reasonable time off without loss of compensation to confer at the work site with a union xxxxxxx on representational matters in accordance with City and Union Paid Release Time section. Release time for these purposes is subject to prior notification to and approval by the employee’s immediate supervisor. Approval of such release time shall not be unreasonably withheld.

Employee Release Time. A. The City recognizes and agrees to deal with designated representatives of RPA on all matters related to grievances. B. A written list of all RPA representatives shall be furnished to the City immediately after their designation and RPA shall notify the City promptly of any change of representatives. C. An aggrieved employee shall be allowed reasonable release time for the purpose of attending administrative or Xxxxxx hearings or an internal affairs investigation during working hours without loss of compensation subject to prior notification and approval by his/her immediate supervisor. D. The City and RPA agree to continue an RPA Time Bank for use by employees for the sole purpose of performing or conducting association business subject to the following conditions: 1. RPA members must donate one (1) hour each year of vacation hours from an association member's accrued leave balance for such hours. Such donation shall be non-revocable and not returnable to the employee. Donations will be allowed only during January of each year. 2. The maximum number of hours any member shall donate is one (1) hour per year. Any remaining unused hours in the time bank on December 31st shall be carried over into the next calendar year. The maximum number of hours that can be accrued is two hundred (200). 3. Time bank hours shall not be used without prior approval of RPA representatives. All time submitted to payroll for reimbursement from the bank must have RPA and department approval. The Human Resources and Finance Departments will be responsible for processing the appropriate donation forms and any payment(s). 4. Employee Release Time. Reasonable release time without loss of compensation will be provided to an employee for the purpose of appearing at a grievance proceeding when he or she is the principal in such grievance proceeding, provided that the notice requirements set forth in Section 5.3 (Notification) are met.
Employee Release Time. 1) The Department may, in its discretion, grant to elected officers or appointed representatives of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers – Local 18 (Local 18) time off for union representation activities. Under this Article, no more than nine (9) employees for all ten (10) bargaining units collectively shall be so released at any one time. 2) Each employee shall submit a request for release at least twenty-one (21) calendar days prior to the effective date, notifying supervision of both the starting and ending dates of release. The Department shall make every effort to grant the request as submitted, and shall deny or modify it only in the event of undue hardship. 3) During the release period, except as provided in Section (6), the City shall pay the employee’s current salary while the employee is on release to Local 18. The employee on release to Local 18 shall receive all increases in salary and benefits approved for other Department employees in the same job classification during the release period. 4) During the release period, except as provided in Section (6), employees shall retain all of their existing benefits, including, but not limited to vacation, sick leave, compensated time off, short-term disability, life insurance, medical, dental, workers’ compensation, deferred compensation plan, retirement benefits, and seniority accrual in their civil service class. 5) Local 18 shall reimburse the City quarterly for all salary paid and benefits given under Sections (3) and (4) above. The cost of benefits shall be based on the rates established by the MOU in effect or the actual costs of new benefits that become effective during the period of the release. 6) Payment of any overtime worked during the release period shall be the responsibility of Local 18. 7) Local 18 shall reimburse the Paymaster each quarter for all compensable costs identified in Sections (3), (4), and (5) above incurred during the preceding quarter. 8) Employees on release time shall submit weekly time sheets (signed by the employee and the Local 18 Business Manager or Assistant Business Manager) to the DWP Paymaster specifying the number of hours worked, and use of any sick leave, vacation time or other compensated time off. 9) An employee who incurs a work-related injury while on release time shall remain on release time until the release has ended, and shall continue to be counted as one of the nine employees for the five bargaining units. 10) Employees returning from...

Employee Release Time. The employee on whose behalf the grievance has been filed will be provided paid release time, during work hours to attend and participate in all grievance proceedings/meetings. In the case of a grievance filed on behalf of a group of employees, up to two (2) employees may be chosen to represent the grievance, and they will be provided with paid release time during work hours to attend and participate in all grievance proceedings/meetings. No overtime or compensatory time will be paid as a result of participation in the grievance proceedings.
Employee Release Time. For meet and confer issues with management, City agrees to grant paid employee release time for up to four regular committee members and one alternate to attend scheduled bargaining or negotiating sessions including one-half hour release time at the beginning and at the end of each session for preparation. The alternate member shall only be released to attend a bargaining session when a “regular” member has indicated they are unable to attend. Overtime will not be authorized for the meet and confer process. No more than two employees from the same department may serve on a committee.
