RELIGIOUS, CULTURAL AND CEREMONIAL LEAVE. 33.1 Supervisors will assist Staff by approving an applicable form of leave (annual leave, flexible work arrangements, leave without pay, or other applicable leave) for observance of holy days or attendance at essential religious, cultural or ceremonial duties associated with the Staff Member’s faith or culture. 33.2 Staff will provide appropriate documentation to their Supervisor. 33.3 Eligibility and entitlement All Staff (excluding casuals) Leave may be granted, at the discretion of the Staff Member’s Supervisor, in line with the conditions outlined above. Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander Staff Up to 5 days paid leave and 10 days leave without pay per annum to fulfil ceremonial obligations. 1 day paid leave per annum to participate in National Day celebrations

RELIGIOUS, CULTURAL AND CEREMONIAL LEAVE. (a) Ceremonial leave with pay will be granted to a staff member of Aboriginal or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander descent for ceremonial purposes connected with the death of a member of the immediate family or extended family or for other ceremonial obligations under Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander law. (b) Up to 5 days Leave will also be granted to staff members whose religious ceremonies occur on days other than those prescribed as public holidays. Such leave will be taken in lieu of public holidays, unless alternative arrangements are approved by the relevant member of the Senior Management Staff.
RELIGIOUS, CULTURAL AND CEREMONIAL LEAVE. Employees other than casual employees are entitled to up to 3 days (32.55 hours) paid leave per calendar year, for the purpose of fulfilling or observing religious, ceremonial or culturally significant days. In addition, employees are also entitled to take leave without pay for a maximum of ten days. Reasonable evidence may be required in support of leave applied for and taken under this clause. An Employee will be paid at their Loaded Remuneration Rate during periods of religious, cultural, and ceremonial leave and will have 10.85 hours per shift recorded and paid during the fortnightly pay period the Employee takes the leave. Such leave will not accrue from year to year and will not be paid out on termination. Such leave is in addition to leave granted under the compassionate or bereavement leave provisions.

  • Cultural and Ceremonial Leave 61.1 An employee is entitled to up to five days unpaid cultural leave for cultural and ceremonial obligations each 12 months for the purposes of undertaking their cultural or ceremonial obligations for the community or group to which the employee belongs. 61.2 The CEO may, on application grant leave subject to clauses 61.4 and 61.5. 61.3 The CEO will have regard for an employee’s cultural or ceremonial obligations, and may grant a further period of unpaid cultural and ceremonial leave.

  • Ceremonial Leave An employee who is legitimately required by Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander tradition to be absent from work for Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander ceremonial purposes will be entitled to up to ten working days unpaid leave in any one year, with the approval of the employer.

  • Cultural Leave Where such leave is approved by the employer, teachers participating in recognised cultural activities within New Zealand or outside New Zealand are entitled to leave with pay on the same conditions as for sports leave.

  • Religious Leave Religious leave shall be without pay unless the employee elects to use accumulated compensatory time off, vacation time, or floating holiday time. Denial of religious leave is appealable as provided elsewhere in this section.

  • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part-time Nurses who are elected to the College of Nurses to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Nurses who are elected to the RNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Practical Nurses who are elected to the RPNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings.

  • Orientation The Employer shall provide planned and paid Orientation Programs of such content and duration as it deems appropriate taking into consideration the needs of the Employer and the Nurses involved. Such Nurses will not be considered part of core staffing during their Orientation Program nor will they be provided with primary assignments.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.

  • Job Protection 15.9.1 Subject to 15.10 below, an employee returning from parental leave is entitled to resume work in the same position or a similar position to the one they occupied at the time of commencing parental leave. A similar position means a position: (a) At the equivalent salary, grading; (b) At the equivalent weekly hours of duty; (c) In the same location or other location within reasonable commuting distance; and (d) Involving responsibilities broadly comparable to those experienced in the previous position. 15.9.2 Where applicable, employees shall continue to be awarded increments when their incremental date falls during absence on parental leave.

  • Employment Relations Education Leave Employment Relations Education Leave will be allowed in accordance with the Employment Relations Act.
