Retiree Benefits Eligibility. 7.5.1 The District shall provide health and welfare benefits for retiring unit members as follows. This benefit shall be discontinued at the end of the month in which the retired unit member reaches the age 65 or seven (7) years from the date of retirement, whichever occurs first, provided, however, such coverage is permitted under the existing policy of the insurance company. The retiring unit member must have served at least five (5) consecutive years in the District, immediately preceding retirement and reached age 50. A District-approved leave shall not constitute a break in service for the purpose of eligibility for this benefit.

  • Group Benefits Eligibility 7.2.1. Subject to the provisions of the master policies, all teachers appointed to the staff of the School Division after the signing of this Collective Agreement shall be required to enroll in the ASEBP plans. All teachers enrolled in the plans on the signing date of this agreement shall continue to be enrolled in the plans. A teacher may be exempted from participation in the Extended Health Care plan, the Dental Care Plan, and the Vision Care Plan upon submitting proof of participation in these or similar plans through the teacher's spouse.
