Sabbatical Study Leave. 15.9.1 The Superintendent retains the discretionary right to grant, upon request, unpaid leaves for sabbatical/study reasons. Such leave shall not exceed one (1) calendar year in duration.

Sabbatical Study Leave. In order to encourage significant growth in ministry and to increase the likelihood of longer pastoral tenure, the congregation plans for the following sabbatical opportunity (the “Sabbatical Study”) . Sabbatical Study requires a detailed plan, which is approved twelve months in advance, for how time will be used and will outline learning objectives to be achieved. A report will be provided following the end of the Sabbatical Study as to how these objectives were achieved and time was used. The pastor will be given ___ months of Sabbatical Study for renewal, study, or service after ___ years of service. During the Sabbatical Study, the pastor will receive _________% salary and benefits as then exist as set out in this Agreement. Following a Sabbatical Study, the pastor agrees to provide a minimum of one year of service to the congregation, with the understanding that repayment of Sabbatical Study salary and benefits will be made for failure to do so.
Sabbatical Study Leave. Sabbatical study leaves are not granted automatically, but shall be evaluated, approved and administered by the local church. The pastor will be eligible for a sabbatical study leave after five (5) consecutive years of service in the same local church. The length of the sabbatical shall be four (4) months.

  • Study Leave Credits for study leave will be given for educational commitments falling due between an employee's nominated starting and finishing times.

  • Sabbatical Leaves 49. Members taking their first Sabbatical Leave after a probationary period at The University of Western Ontario shall receive 90.0% of their Base Salary; Members taking their second or subsequent Sabbatical Leave from The University of Western Ontario shall receive 85.0% of their Base Salary.

  • Sabbatical (a) After every six years of service, an employee may apply for sabbatical leave of three months, or other agreed period, on full pay, whether as a continuous period or a series of separate periods, to spend time at other clinical units or centres, universities or research institutes or working (or volunteering) for a medical charity for the purposes of strengthening or acquiring clinical knowledge or skills or undertaking an approved course of study or research in matters relevant to their clinical practice.

  • Sabbatical Leave Committee Shall consist of the following:

  • Sabbatical Leave The purpose of a sabbatical leave is to enhance professional development, support department/unit goals, and/or meet the instructional, service, or research priorities of the university.

  • Application for Sabbatical Leave 16.K.2.a. The application for sabbatical leave shall include a statement of the relationship between the proposed sabbatical activity(ies) and the applicant’s current or prospective service to the College and of the benefit(s) that the District shall accrue because of the leave.

  • Bereavement Leave of Absence An employee who has a bereavement in their immediate family will be granted up to and including five (5) days absence with pay. Immediate family means spouse, (as defined in Section 2(b) of Appendix 2), parents, and child. For this provision “step” relationships are considered as immediate family. An employee who has a bereavement in their family will be granted up to and including three (3) days absence with pay. Family means brother, sister, parents-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, son-in-law and daughter-in-law. For this provision “step” relationships are considered as family. In the event of the death of an employee's brother-in-law, sister-in-law or grand parents- in-law the employee will be given one (1) days' leave with pay to attend the funeral. An additional day's traveling time, in each direction, will be granted in order for the employee to attend the funeral if such is to be held in excess of 600 kilometers from the employees’ home.

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer.
