Seminars and Conferences Fund. The Employer/agencies are committed to the upgrading and maintenance of the educational and skill levels of bargaining unit members. The Employer will establish a tuition reimbursement fund for use by members of this bargaining unit. The fund will make available two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) in fiscal years 2004 and 2005 and two hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) in fiscal year 2006 for fees and expenses for attendance at seminars, workshops, conferences and for tuition reimbursement. Employees will have a personal cap of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500). Reimbursement shall be at one hundred percent (100%). The parties shall discuss any changes in the fund at the State-Wide Labor/Management Committee. These discussions shall include the usage of the fund to pay for necessary Continuing Education Units and Continuing Education Units leading to the renewal of certification. Reimbursement for travel, food and lodging shall be governed by OBM Expenses and Travel reimbursement policies. Agencies may allocate additional funds within their agency for the purp ose of providing reimbursement to employees for approved attendance at seminars and conferences, or for tuition reimbursement. In agencies where such a fund exists agency employees must apply first for seminars, workshops and conferences and tuition reimb ursement from the fund established by this Article. Upon exhaustion of this fund, employees may then apply for the agency funds. Regardless of funding source, all funds received shall count toward the personal cap. The agency shall attempt to share information on seminars, workshops and conferences with interested employees, consistent with the local procedure for distribution of that type of material. However, the agency cannot be responsible for removal of notices from bulletin boards or failure of others to forward the information.

  • Pre-Job Conferences a) The Employer will notify the Union that a project has been awarded to the Employer following the award. Prior to the start of each project, a pre-job conference will be held to determine all site-specific issues as outlined in this Agreement. This conference may be conducted via telephone, through a scheduled meeting or by some other practical means as agreed to by the parties.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • SPECIAL CONFERENCES 24.01 Special conferences for important matters will be arranged between the union and the Human Resources Officer or designee, upon the request of either party. Such meetings shall be between the Union representatives and representatives of the Board. Arrangements for such special conferences shall be made in advance and an agenda of the matters to be taken up at the meeting shall be presented at the time the conference is requested. Matters to be taken up in special conferences shall be confined to those included in the agenda.

  • Parent Conferences A. 1. Elementary and exceptional education schools shall be dismissed early a minimum of four (4) half days during the school year to grant teachers time for parent-teacher conferences.
