Shop xxxxxxx’x training. 1. In order to facilitate participation in one-month or shorter courses that are related to shop xxxxxxx activities and are jointly arranged or approved by the contract- ing parties or their cooperation bodies, the employer is obligated to excuse the shop xxxxxxx from work without suspending the employment relationship if this can be done without substantial detriment to the company’s operations. If this cannot be done, the shop xxxxxxx must be informed, no later than 10 days be- fore the start of the course, of the reason why release from work would cause substantial detriment. Notification of intention to participate in a course must be submitted no later than 2 weeks before the start of the course for a course last- ing for a maximum of one week and no later than 6 weeks in advance in the case of a longer course. 2. The chief shop xxxxxxx, deputy chief shop xxxxxxx, negotiating shop xxxxxxx and workplace shop xxxxxxx have the right to participate in shop xxxxxxx courses without a reduction in their salary. In order to ensure negotiation competence, the deputies of the negotiating shop xxxxxxx and workplace shop xxxxxxx have the right to participate in basic shop xxxxxxx training, as work situation allows, without a reduction in their salary. Minuted note: The practical arrangements concerning course participation are agreed between the deputy of the negotiating shop xxxxxxx or the deputy of the workplace shop xxxxxxx and the employer, with the deputy shop stew- ard nevertheless participating in courses during no more than three (3) days in a calendar year. 3. The parties recommend that, in order to ensure negotiation competence, all situ- ations in which the regular staff representative is prevented from fulfilling their duties (e.g. due to an extended absence) be anticipated. 4. When a shop xxxxxxx participates in training activities that have been arranged or approved by the contracting parties together or by their cooperation bodies and that deal with labour protection, rationalisation, human resources manage- ment, business economics or other such subjects, the employer compensates for both their lost income and the costs incurred as a result of the training. 5. Attending the courses set out above in this section must not lead to a suspen- sion of the employment relationship or reduction in annual leave, pension or other corresponding benefits. 6. Shop xxxxxxx’x training. Section 16 of the Shop Xxxxxxx Agreement is amended to read as follows: The shop xxxxxxx is entitled to participate in training courses organised by the Finnish Musicians’ Union and those jointly approved by PALTA annually. The Employer shall pay the shop xxxxxxx attending the training a monthly salary for the duration of the training and reimburse accommodation and travel expenses in accordance with the Travel Annex to the Collective Agreement.

  • SHOP XXXXXXX The Shop Xxxxxxx shall be a County employee as selected by the Union. A list of shop stewards will be kept current and sent by the Union to each department head and to Human Resources. Duties required by the Union of its stewards, except attendance at meetings with the County, supervisory personnel and aggrieved employees arising out of a grievance already initiated by an employee under Article 14 hereof, shall not interfere with their or other employees, regular work assignments as employees of the County. The shop xxxxxxx, or their designee, involved with a particular grievance must be identified at Step 1 of the grievance procedure and will be designated as the only bargaining unit employee who will be able to gather information pertaining to that particular grievance. The Union will make reasonable efforts to control the amount of investigative time spent between the shop xxxxxxx and the aggrieved employee. Meetings scheduled with management and other proper investigative procedures, and attendance at meetings specified in Steps 1 and 2 of the grievance procedure shall be considered hours worked for compensation purposes to the extent such meetings occur during the normal hours of work, and not otherwise. In order to use union leave for this purpose, Shop Stewards must notify the supervisor/department head of meetings and other commitments at the time these are scheduled. Attendance at meetings specified in Step 3 of the grievance procedure shall be considered hours worked during regularly scheduled business hours of the County for the xxxxxxx involved, witnesses and the grievant. The County shall not be liable for any overtime as a result of the meeting. Witnesses and the shop xxxxxxx involved shall be granted leave with pay to the extent their presence at the proceedings is required. If it is a discharge case the grievant shall not be paid except as provided in a remedy awarded.
