Sick Leave Cash Conversion. A. An employee shall have, pursuant to the following provisions, the options to convert to cash benefit payable on the last payday in December and the last payday of the school year, or carry forward the balance of any unused sick leave credit at year’s end. An employee who accrues sick leave pursuant to this agreement shall have the following options with regard to the portion of sick leave credit: 1. Carry forward the balance of sick leave credit. 2. Receive a cash benefit conversion for the unused balance of sick leave credit. Unused sick leave shall be converted as described below: An employee who did not use sick leave during the previous work period may convert up to three weeks of unused sick leave at a rate equal to fifty percent of the employee’s base rate of pay. The first work period shall be defined as the first work date of the school year through the last work date of November; the second work period shall be defined as the first work day in December through the last work day of the school year. An employee who used no more than one day of sick leave may convert five (5) days, at a rate equal to fifty percent of the employee’s base rate of pay. An employee who used no more than two days of sick leave may convert four (4) days, at a rate equal to fifty percent of the employee’s base rate of pay. B. The failure of an employee to utilize one of the sick leave conversion options listed above shall result in the automatic carry-forward of any balance of sick leave credit. C. Any cash benefit conversions of sick leave made at year end under the provisions of this rule shall not be subject to contributions to any of the retirement systems either by the employee or the employer. D. An employee eligible to receive a cash benefit conversion of sick leave credit must indicate his/her desire to convert any sick leave no later than the end of the pay period that includes the first day of November and the end of the pay period that includes the first day of June. E. Except in extraordinary circumstances, and with the agreement of the union and the administration, employees who participate in the sick leave cash conversion are ineligible to apply for sick leave donation for one full school year after the cash conversion payment.

  • Sick Leave Conversion Sick leave accumulation in excess of 1,440 hours may be converted to paid vacation time at a ratio of two (2) hours of sick leave time for one (1) hour of vacation time, to a maximum of five (5) regularly-assigned workdays (not to exceed a total of forty (40) hours in any year. There shall be no conversion of unused sick leave in any amount at any time to any cash payment other than the above-described conversion to vacation time or severance pay in Article 13.

  • Sick Leave Cash Out Eligible employees may elect to receive monetary compensation for accrued sick leave as follows: In January of each year an employee whose sick leave balance at the end of the previous year exceeds four hundred eighty (480) hours may elect to convert the sick leave hours earned in the previous calendar year, minus those hours used during the year, to monetary compensation. No sick leave hours may be converted which would reduce the calendar year end balance below four hundred eighty (480) hours. Monetary compensation shall be paid at the rate of twenty-five percent and shall be based on the employee’s current salary. All converted hours will be deducted from the sick leave balance. Employees who separate from University service due to retirement or death shall be compensated for the unused sick leave accumulation from the date of most recent hire in a leave eligible position with the State of Washington at the rate of 25%. Compensation shall be based upon the employee’s wage at the time of separation. For the purpose of this section, retirement shall not include vested out of service employees who leave funds on deposit with the retirement system. Former eligible employees who are re-employed within three (3) years of their separation from service shall be granted all unused sick leave credits, if any, to which they are entitled at time of separation.

  • Sick Leave Separation Cash Out At the time of retirement from state service or at death, an eligible employee or the employee’s estate will receive cash for their compensable sick leave balance on a one (1) hour for four (4) hours basis. For the purposes of this Section, retirement will not include “vested out of service” employees who leave funds on deposit with the retirement system.

  • Sick Leave Buy Back To encourage and reward employees who maintain good job attendance, the parties agree to the following incentive award: Employees who utilize two (2) sick leave days or less each assigned school calendar year and year-round employees who utilize three (3) sick leave days or less during each assigned school calendar year - upon request – shall receive payment for up to eight (8) days of sick leave, provided the employee worked the full assigned calendar year.* The following procedures apply to the payment of sick leave under this section. 1. An employee must have a minimum of twenty-five (25) days of accumulated sick leave remaining after the payment for unused sick leave under this section. 2. The payment of this incentive shall be paid to eligible employees no later than October 31st of the school year following the school year in which the employee qualified for the incentive pay. 3. For purposes of this section, sick leave shall be defined pursuant to all sections of F.S.1012.61. 4. Days for which such award payment is received shall be deducted from the accumulated leave balance. 5. Payment shall be equal to the number of eligible days times the affected employees daily rate of base pay times eighty percent (80%).

  • Sick Leave Annual Cash Out ‌ Each January, employees are eligible to receive cash on a one (1) hour for four (4) hours basis for ninety-six (96) hours or less of their accrued sick leave, if: A. Their sick leave balance at the end of the previous calendar year exceeds four hundred and eighty (480) hours; B. The converted sick leave hours do not reduce their previous calendar year sick leave balance below four hundred and eighty (480) hours; and C. They notify their payroll office by January 31st that they would like to convert their sick leave hours earned during the previous calendar year, minus any sick leave hours used during the previous year, to cash. All converted hours will be deducted from the employee’s sick leave balance.

  • Sick Leave Usage 1. Sick leave may be used by an employee when sick, injured, or quarantined. Also sick leave may be used on the occasion of an illness in the employee's family, where a need can be shown. 2. In computing compensation payable for sick leave, the compensation paid shall be the amount the employee would earn during the sick leave period if working at their current rate of pay and work schedule without the inclusion of overtime earnings.

  • Vacation Cash Out In each calendar year, an employee may make a one-time request to cash out and receive payment for up to forty (40) hours of vacation. In order to be eligible to cash out vacation hours, the employee must be a regular status employee and have a remaining vacation balance of sixty (60) hours or more. Vacation leave that has been pre-approved will be considered when the request is made in order to determine if they will maintain the minimum vacation balance requirement.

  • Sick Leave Incentive The City will institute a sick leave incentive based on the usage of the bargaining unit; further, the City will pay each person who qualifies during January of each year. The incentive will be calculated and monitored by the Personnel Department and will be based on the pay periods during a calendar year. The incentive shall be awarded only when the bargaining unit's average sick leave usage is less than the City average and the following conditions are met: When the bargaining unit's sick leave usage is greater than forty (40) hours but less than the City average, the City will pay each member using between zero (0) and sixteen (16) hours of sick leave, eight (8) hours pay and any member using more than sixteen (16) but equal to or less than twenty-four (24) hours, four (4) hours pay. When the bargaining unit's average sick leave usage is equal to or less than forty (40) hours, the City will pay each member who used between zero (0) and sixteen (16) hours, sixteen (16) hours of pay at their current hourly rate. Those members who used more than sixteen (16) but equal to or less than twenty-four (24) hours, will receive eight (8) hours of pay.

  • Automatic Conversion Subject to Section 5 below and, at the Company’s election and request, Holder’s reaffirmation of Holder’s representations and warranties under Section 3 of the Convertible Note Purchase Agreement, the principal amount of this Note (and all interest accrued on this Note at the option of the Payor) shall be converted into the number of shares of common stock as follows: (a) In the event of a next equity financing by the Company in one transaction or series of related transactions which raises an aggregate amount of at least One Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,500,000) (the “Next Equity Financing”), the principal amount on this Note shall automatically be converted (regardless of whether or not the Note is surrendered to Payor) into the equity securities issued in the Payor’s Next Equity Financing (the “Next Equity Financing Stock”). Any accrued interest outstanding at the time of the conversion shall be paid in cash by the Company. This Note shall convert into the number of shares at the time of the “Next Equity Financing” equals to ___,000 shares of the Company’s Common Stock at an exercise price of $0.60 per share (the “Exercise Price”) This Note shall be deemed automatically cancelled immediately upon such conversion. As a condition precedent to the issuance of the Next Equity Financing Stock to Holder upon such conversion, Holder shall execute and deliver such agreements, instruments and other documents as are executed and delivered by the other investors in connection with their purchase of the Next Equity Financing Stock. (b) In the event of the “Company’s Sale”, defined below, at the option of Payor, the principal hereunder and, at the option of the Payor, shall automatically be converted (regardless of whether or not the Note is surrendered to Payor) into the number of shares (the “Company’s Sale Stock”) equals to ____,000 shares of the Company’s Common Stock at an exercise price of $0.60 per share (the “Exercise Price”). This Note shall be deemed automatically cancelled immediately upon such conversion.
