Sick Leave - Maximum Accrual. Employees may accrue up to 1,440 hours of sick leave. Section 18.03 Sick Leave Policy / Dependent Sick Sick leave shall be used and administered in accordance with applicable City and Departmental policies. Employees shall be entitled to use a maximum of twenty-­‐four
Sick Leave - Maximum Accrual. Sick leave shall accrue to a maximum of three (3) months or five hundred and twenty (520) hours. Sick leave shall begin to accrue on the first day of the month following employment with the City. Employees who accumulate over 520 sick leave hours will have an opportunity to cash out the excess hours over the 520 sick leave hours on the second pay day of July. Employees will have the option of depositing the excess hours into their deferred compensation account or converting the excess hours to taxable cash (as income). If an employee does not exercise the option to deposit the excess hours into their deferred compensation account or convert it to taxable cash, the hours will be converted to cash by the City. In addition to having the option to cash out or place sick leave hours above 520 hours into deferred compensation on the second pay day in July, following the final pay day in December of each year, unit members with more than 520 hours of accrued sick leave in their sick leave account shall be cashed out of that sick leave down to 520 hours. These employees have the right to inform payroll that they want these funds to be placed into their deferred compensation account.

  • Sick Leave Accrual Full-time employees will accrue eight (8) hours of sick leave in a calendar month. Part- time employees will accrue sick leave credit on the same proportional basis that their employment schedule bears to a full-time schedule, up to a maximum of eight (8) hours in a calendar month.

  • Sick Leave Usage A. Sick leave may be used for an employee or an employee's child, spouse or parent's illness or injury, hospitalization and appointment pertaining to health.

  • Vacation Leave Accrual ‌ After a full-time employee has been in pay status for eighty (80) non-overtime hours in a calendar month, the employee will accrue vacation leave according to the rate schedule below. Vacation leave accrual for part-time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours the part-time employee is in pay status during the month to that required for full-time employment.

  • Sick Leave Pool a. The Sick Leave Pool is intended to provide security to supplement other insurance benefits by allowing employees to "buy" insurance for extended illness, or other disability. Pool Days may be used to "make an employee whole" if disability or Workers' Compensation benefits are less than normal base pay. When "buying" Pool Days, employees convert Earned Time days on a 1:3 basis. Similar to purchasing insurance, the employee may pick a given number of days to exchange for coverage in case of extended disability.

  • Sick Leave Payout No cash payment for unused sick leave will be paid to any employee leaving the service of the Employer.

  • Annual Leave Accrual If an employee leaves State Classified employment and is later rehired, he/she shall accrue annual leave at the same rate as a new hire. However, once a rehired employee has been in pay status for five (5) years, all previous service time shall be credited for annual leave accrual. The only exception shall be for employees rehired who repay severance pay received.

  • Sick Leave Days Subject to paragraphs d) i-vi below, permanent full-time Teachers will be allocated eleven (11) sick days at one hundred percent (100%) salary in each school year. Teachers who are less than full-time shall have their sick leave allocation pro-rated.

  • Leave Accrual After the first 30 days of active military service in any one calendar year, employees shall not accrue City-paid vacation, holiday, or sick leave benefits or other forms of paid leave; provided, however, that any public employee on military leave for intermittent training periods shall continue to accrue the same vacation, sick, and holiday leave up to a maximum period of 180 cumulative days per calendar year as if the employee had not been on military leave.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Sick Leave Payment Any employee, at his/her option may choose to receive payment for sick leave earned during the year which is unused at the end of the year. Any such payment must be for the total number of unused sick leave hours earned during the year, must be based on the hourly rate of pay of the employee multiplied by 50 percent, and all hours for which payment is received must be deducted from the employee’s accumulated leave balance. Sick leave used during a current year will be charged against the most recently earned sick leave. Hourly rate of pay is the hourly rate at the end of the contract year.
