Special Days Off. (SDO) 12-6.01. It is recognized that events occur in a Pilot’s life where their attendance is crucial. In order to address such a requirement, a Pilot may request (a) SDO(s). Such requests are limited to once per calendar year to a maximum of four (4) consecutive unpaid days and shall be made to the Assistant Chief Pilot, Crew Management, or their designate, at least sixty (60) days in advance of the date of the event. Such requests will not be unreasonably denied. Any SDOs taken in accordance with this paragraph shall be inclusive of their Scheduled Days Off in the applicable month.

Special Days Off. From time to time and at its complete discretion, the Board may relieve unit employees of the obligation to work on all or part of a scheduled workday. These days when they occur typically include a January student nonattendance day and a day in July when July 4th falls on certain days. The Association acknowledges that any such days are entirely voluntary on the part of the Board and that they create no practice or precedent requiring their repetition in the future.

For Officers on a 3/12.5 work schedule, three (3) separate dates/shifts to be taken off for use of vacation or accumulated compensatory time off in addition to his/hertheir annual vacation leave selection. Such special days off shall not be taken on holidays as identified in Section 7.14 of this agreement.
Special Days Off. When the majority of represented employees covered under this agreement agree to take a day off for which they will be required to take vacation leave, this decision will not be grievable.

  • Bereavement Days A. All employees may use up to (5) sick days for bereavement days for deaths in the immediate family. Immediate Family is defined as spouse, children, grandchildren, brother, sister, parents, grandparents and parent-in-law, brother/sister-in-law except that a relative living in the same household may, for the purpose of this section, be considered as of the immediate family. Two (2) of the sick days will not be chargeable to the employee's sick day bank. B. All employees may use up to five (5) sick days for illness in the immediate family. The employer may require verification of illness. Immediate family includes spouse and children.

  • Sick Days Employees will be provided with 6 sick days per calendar year. Sick days are paid at 75% of the employee’s step rate.

  • Vacation Days Employee shall be entitled to the same paid vacation days each calendar year during the term of this Employee Agreement as authorized by the Company for its other employees.

  • Reinstatement of Vacation Days - Sick Leave In the event an employee is sick or injured prior to the commencement of his/her vacation, such employee shall be granted sick leave and the vacation period so displaced shall be added to the vacation period if requested by the employee and by mutual agreement, or shall be reinstated for use at a later date.

  • Weekends Off In scheduling shifts the Hospital will endeavour to arrange schedules so as to provide for a minimum of eight (8) weekends off in every twenty-four (24) week period, and, in any event, at least one weekend off in each three (3) week period. Where a weekend off is not granted within a three (3) week period, time worked on such third weekend but not subsequent weekends shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) unless the Hospital, notwithstanding its best efforts, was unable to meet this standard. This standard shall not apply where: (i) such weekend work was performed by the employee to satisfy specific days off requested by such employee; or (ii) such employee has requested weekend work, or was advised at the time of hire or when the job was posted that the regular schedule normally required continuous weekend work; or (iii) such weekend is worked as a result of an exchange of shifts with another employee; or (iv) the Hospital is unable to comply due to a prohibition against scheduling split days off. It is understood and agreed that there shall be no pyramiding of overtime premiums under the provisions of the Collective Agreement arising out of the foregoing undertakings. The foregoing shall have no application where other scheduling arrangements are provided acceptable to the Hospital and the employees affected and approved by the Union. If an employee who is called on their scheduled weekend off refuses a shift, the refused shift will not be counted as a refused shift, as they are entitled to the weekend off according to the collective agreement.

  • Time Off The company recognises that sufficient time off to attend to personal matters and for recreation are important to the employee’s wellbeing, job satisfaction and overall productivity. Accordingly, time off may be taken with the consent of the Company, which shall not be unreasonably withheld. In considering the approval to have time off, the Parties will have regard to the current works programme and the urgency of the reason for time off. In the event that time off is to be taken, it will be the employee’s obligation to advise the Company in advance or as soon as practicable on the day of absence, recognising that unplanned absences can cause costly disruption to programmed works and are a major source of annoyance for the company, other employees and clients. The object of offering flexible working hours is that in return employees will take very seriously their obligation to turn up when they are expected. In view of the disruption caused by unplanned and or notified absenteeism, repeated failure to observe the protocol for time off would constitute misconduct.
