Split Shift Differential. 3.17.1 A split shift is defined as one in which employees have a break in their regular workday of a minimum of two (2) hours. 3.17.2 The District will pay a differential compensation to employees working a split shift equivalent to thirty (30) minutes at the employee's normal rate of pay. 3.17.3 The District will not incur split-shift differentials to expand an individual's schedule to meet additional hours requested in different occupations. 3.17.4 Salary schedule rates will be applied to each classification added or split.

Unit members with fifty (50) percent or more of their assigned work shift commencing after 9:30 P.M. and prior to 8:00 A.M. shall be paid a break in shift differential of four (4) percent above their regular workday of a minimum of two (2) hours. 3.17.2 The District will pay a differential compensation to employees working a split shift equivalent to thirty (30) minutes at the employee's normal rate of paypay for all hours worked. Unit members who receive a shift differential premium shall not lose such differential premium when assigned temporarily to a different shift. 3.17.3 The District will not incur split-shift differentials to expand an individual's schedule to meet additional hours requested in different occupations. 3.17.4 Salary schedule rates will be applied to each classification added or split.
