Standardized Tests. Employees shall not be required to score any district-wide administered standardized tests or to affix the test results to the student permanent record cards. For the purpose of this Article, a standardized test is a test administered and scored in a standardized manner which a.) compares the performance of each student with a nationally normed sample of his/her peers (e.g. ITBS, ITED) or b.) is used to compare students to some predetermined, established state or national criterion rather than to other individuals (e.g. PSSA, DIBELS). Standardized tests shall not include curriculum based or formative assessments used to assist in designing the instructional program to meet student needs.
Standardized Tests. Under the direction of the School Administrator, NSCS students will be tested with the same state-mandated standardized tests as all other Idaho public school students. The tests will be conducted in strict accordance with, and at the specified intervals mandated by the State of Idaho. It is NSCS’s goal to have a 95% participation rate on state assessments. Early and consistent communication with parents about the importance and purpose of the assessments along with communicating the assessment results to parents in a timely manner will help facilitate NSCS reaching this goal. The School Administrator will work with the staff member assigned the role of School Test Coordinator to ensure a schedule is developed that provides an opportunity for all students to be assessed and for students that are not in attendance during the testing period to be rescheduled for a make-up test. Additionally, NSCS will administer any and all required state assessments according to SDE protocol. NSCS is currently accredited for grades K through 12 by The Northwest Accreditation Commission. NSCS will renew accreditation every 5 years as required by the Northwest Accreditation Commission. The requirements used by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission are research-based standards to not only evaluate NSCS’s organizational effectiveness, but also its K-12 programs, school wide culture, and satisfaction of our stakeholders. The five standards- Purpose and Direction, Governance and Leadership, Teaching and Assessing for Learning, Resources and Support Systems, and Using Results for Continuous Improvement, provide the framework for NSCS to continually monitor our effectiveness. It is our belief that using this set of research-based standards can provide focus and help NSCS leadership and stakeholders continue to provide a quality education for NSCS students.

Standardized Tests. Each year all Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Nashville administer the IOWA Assessment, a series of standardized tests, as a means of knowing the needs of each child better and thereby improving the instructional program as it relates to the child as an individual and to the class as a whole. The testing is mandatory and the cost is included in the fees charged at the beginning of each academic year. Students will be required to make up missed standardized tests at the discretion of the administration. A late fee may be charged to help defray the cost of privately administering the test. Parents should make every effort to have their child present for these tests. Folders containing a conduct grade, comments, student papers, and tests are sent home by the teachers each Wednesday. Parents/guardians are asked to examine the contents of the folder and sign the conduct sheet. Parental cooperation in signing the folder will demonstrate awareness and concern for the child's progress and, at the same time, provide a reliable vehicle of communication between home and school. The Wednesday Wire is a weekly all school email or posting with special announcements and news. The Wednesday Wire is distributed through our student information system, RenWeb. Information from the school office will likewise be sent home each Wednesday with the youngest* child in each family. If the youngest is in PreK, information will be sent home with the next youngest child. All folders are to be returned the next school day. If needed, exceptions are to be made through parental contact with the teacher.
