Supplemental Unemployment Benefits on Maternity Leave a) When a pregnant employee takes maternity leave to which they are entitled pursuant to Employment Standards Act, the Board shall pay the employee: i) 95% of their current salary for the first two weeks of the leave; ii) And, when the employee is eligible to receive EI maternity benefits the difference between 70% of their current salary and the amount of EI maternity benefits received by the employee for a further 15 weeks. b) The Board agrees to enter into a Supplementary Employment Benefit (SUB) plan agreement required by the Unemployment Insurance Act in respect of such maternity payment.

(b) The Board agrees to enter into the Supplemental Employment Benefit (SUB) Plan agreement required by the Employment Insurance Act in respect of such maternity payment.
Supplemental Unemployment Benefits on Maternity Leave. (a) When a pregnant teacher takes the maternity leave to which she is entitled pursuant to the Employment Standards Act and this collective agreement, the Board shall pay the teacher: i) Ninety-five per cent (95%) of her current salary for the first two (2) weeks of the leave provided this period falls within the regular work year as defined in Article 21; and ii) the difference between seventy-five per cent (75%) of her current salary and the amount of UIC maternity benefits received by the teacher for the next fifteen (15) consecutive weeks provided this period falls within the regular work year as defined in Article 21, and where the teacher is eligible to receive UIC maternity benefits. (b) The Board agrees to enter into the Supplemental Unemployment Benefit (SUB) Plan agreement required by the Unemployment Insurance Act in respect of such maternity payment, and to append such agreement to this collective agreement as an integral portion thereof. (c) It is understood that the provisions of Article 12.6.2 do not apply to adoptions.

  • Special Maternity Allowance for Totally Disabled Employees (a) An employee who: (i) fails to satisfy the eligibility requirement specified in subparagraph 17.02(a)(ii) solely because a concurrent entitlement to benefits under the Disability Insurance (DI) Plan, the Long term Disability (LTD) Insurance portion of the Public Service Management Insurance Plan (PSMIP) or the Government Employees Compensation Act prevents her from receiving Employment Insurance or Québec Parental Insurance Plan maternity benefits, and (ii) has satisfied all of the other eligibility criteria specified in paragraph 17.02(a), other than those specified in sections (A) and (B) of subparagraph 17.02(a)(iii), shall be paid, in respect of each week of maternity allowance not received for the reason described in subparagraph (i), the difference between ninety-three per cent (93%) of her weekly rate of pay and the gross amount of her weekly disability benefit under the DI Plan, the LTD Plan or via the Government Employees Compensation Act. (b) An employee shall be paid an allowance under this clause and under clause 17.02 for a combined period of no more than the number of weeks during which she would have been eligible for maternity benefits under the Employment Insurance or Québec Parental Insurance Plan had she not been disqualified from Employment Insurance or Québec Parental Insurance maternity benefits for the reasons described in subparagraph (a)(i).
