Temporary Job Opportunities. Temporary job opportunities resulting from the absence of an employee through illness, accident, vacation, or approved leave of absence, or extra workload, of greater than six (6) months shall be posted. The successful applicant will return to former position upon completion of the temporary term. The Employer will be required to post only the original vacancy plus one backfill position.

  • Temporary Layoffs A. The Employer may initiate a temporary layoff for up to twelve (12) working days per fiscal year. Employees will be given thirty (30) days’ notice before the effective date of a temporary layoff. Employees may request alternative temporary layoff days from their manager or supervisor and any requests will be considered and approved or denied in writing.

An employee’s eligibility for overtime and leave accrual shall be pursuant to his/her regular classification. An employee must meet the minimum qualifications for the job class to which he/she is being temporarily promoted and must have completed the first six (6) months of his or her initial probationary period with the County.
