Time Sheets/Time Clocks.
a) The Employer shall provide either time clocks or time sheets to enable employees to record their time for payroll purposes; Employees shall record their own time at the time they start and finish work, and the time they commence and return from meal periods, and such other recordings as be required by the Employer. Where time sheets are used, the employees will record their time in a ballpoint pen.
b) In the event the time to be paid is less than the time recorded, the employee shall be advised. An employee, who for any reason fails to record all time worked in the manner required by the Article shall be penalized upon authorization from the Union as follows:
i) 1st violation - three (3) days’ suspension without pay;
ii) 2nd violation - one (1) weeks’ suspension without pay. Suspension shall be implemented within one
(1) month of notification to do so, unless a longer period is mutually agreed upon by the Union and the Employer; or in the event that the requested suspension becomes subject to the grievance procedure.
iii) 3rd violation - two (2) weeks’ suspension without pay.
c) The Employer may elect to introduce other forms of time recording for payroll purposes and prior to doing so, shall meet with the union in advance to advise of any changes. The Employer shall not use personal information obtained for any reason other than that of time recording for payroll purposes or door access.

A daily time record shall be maintained by the employer at its place of business; all employers who employ five or more people at any terminal shall have time clocks at such terminals. Employees are required to use the time keeping system (TMS) at the beginning and end of each shift, and for the beginning and end of lunch periods.

Employees shall record their own hours of work at the time they actually start and finish work, and the time they commence and return from meal periods, and such other recordings as may be required by the Employer. Should an employee fail to record all time worked in the manner required by this Section, the Union Representative and the individual designated by the Employer to handle Labour Relation matters shall meet to resolve the issue. Employees who fail to record time worked will be subject to discipline and any resulting shortage of pay will not be paid until the following payday.
