Tool Replacement Allowance. 1. The City shall provide a tool replacement fund for the replacement of worn out or broken shop tools and the purchase of new shop tools as needed. This allowance will be available to those employees in classifications which are required as a condition of employment to provide their own shop tools for the performance of their duties within City service. The utilization of this fund shall not exceed $300.00 per employee for any fiscal year. All shop tools purchased and reimbursed under this provision shall be maintained by the employee so as to be immediately available for City work.
Tool Replacement Allowance. This article applies only to Equipment Mechanics, who are required to provide their own tools on the job as a condition of employment. Essential required tools and tool boxes will be replaced by the City in kind if they are lost due to fire, burglary or robbery of the City facility or some other catastrophe or accident not due to the employee's fault or negligence. An inventory of all employees’ tools will be taken by the Public Works Director or his/her designee at least once a year to ensure that the employee has all essential tools on hand. A tool replacement allowance of $30 per pay period will be paid to the above positions to maintain the essential tools inventory. Failure to maintain the essential tools inventory shall result on loss of tool replacement allowance until such inventory is satisfied. The parties agree to reopen negotiations on the tool allowance. The scope of negotiations will include review of the appropriate tools needed for the impacted classifications, the list of required tools, the amount of the tool allowance, and the method of reimbursement for the tool allowance.
Tool Replacement Allowance. 16.1. Those Employees required to furnish their own tools shall be reimbursed by the Employer for the cost of replacing any personal tools which are damaged or worn to the extent they are no longer usable. The tools for which replacement is being requested shall be turned over to the Employee’s Supervisor, who shall have the authority to authorize the purchase of a new tool.
Tool Replacement Allowance. Journeyman tradesmen with one year of service and an average journeyman mechanic's tool kit shall receive a tool replacement allowance of three hundred dollars ($300.00) on February 1st and three hundred dollars ($300.00) on August 1st of every contract year. Apprentices having a set of tools comprising eighty percent (80%) of the value of an average Journeyman kit shall also qualify for such allowance.
Tool Replacement Allowance. Effective January 2016, the City will provide for Tool Replacement Allowance, not to exceed $750.00 per employee per year to reimburse employees covered by this MOU who work in the City Garage for replacement of lost or broken tools normally used in the City Garage or for purchase of specialty tools required for vehicle maintenance or repair. Reimbursement shall be made only upon presentation of receipt and request for purchase that must be approved by the Public Works Maintenance Supervisor in writing prior to purchase if claim against the City is to be made. Claims may be made against the Tool Replacement Allowance fund by any or all of the City Garage employees covered by this MOU. Any unexpended amounts as of June 30th of any given year will not be carried over to the following year.

Mechanics with twelve (12) months' service shall receive three hundred dollars ($300.00) annually for the purpose of replacing tools that have been damaged, broken or altered as a result of performing duties for Skyreach Equipment. This allowance will only be paid upon provision of receipts. Receipts for new tools and the broken tools are required.
Tool Replacement Allowance. Journeymen Mechanics with 12 months' service shall receive three hundred and fifty dollars ($350.00) annually as a tool replacement allowance upon provision of receipts, to be paid on a separate cheque. Effective 5/1/14 this amount will be increased to $400. Welders with a minimum tool list as mutually agreed by the Parties shall receive seventy dollars ($70.00). Apprentice Mechanics having a set of tools comprising 80% of the value of an average Journeyman Mechanic's kit, shall also qualify for such allowance. New Journeymen Mechanics and Apprentice Mechanics with less than 12 months' service prior to May 1st of each calendar year shall receive a portion of the above allowance pro- rated to the number of full months employed with the Company.
Tool Replacement Allowance. The Board shall pay to every Journeyman Mechanic working in the Police Garage an allowance to a of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per year for replacement of lost or damaged tools, subject to presentation of receipts upon request of the supervisor.
