TRADES APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE. This committee will consist of a maximum of four Local 2995 Union members (three of which must come from the Chapleau operation), and a maximum of four company members. (Minimum of 2 per group for quorum) Its function is to review, amend and administer the Trades Apprenticeship Program. Equal representation from both management and the union is required in any decision making process. It will be the company’s responsibility to take necessary action(s) when a trainee is subject to removal from the program but only after discussions with the Trades Apprenticeship Committee has taken place. Based on the company’s needs and assessments, the Committee will recommend to the Company, the number of Trades Apprentices in each trade that will start the program. Apprentices will be registered with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities immediately upon successful completion of the 3- month probationary period. Successful completion of probationary period will be based on performance evaluation of the following items: - Tools & equipment - Willingness to work overtime - Practical skills Applications will be received from employees internally throughout the operation and externally if no applications are received or if internal candidate(s) do not meet the required criteria. An Apprenticeship posting will be considered as advancement therefore a promotion. Apprenticeship openings will also be filled in accordance with the provisions of Article 12, seniority, except that the following provisions shall not apply, Section 12.09, 12.10 (c), 12.10 (h). The successful candidate(s) will be required to meet the following criteria. It is to be noted that seniority of candidates will be in effect provided all else is equal. - Grade 12 or equivalent formal education - Aptitude Testing (passing grade required only) (It is the responsibility of the Trades Apprenticeship Committee to ensure that the aptitude tests meet the intent of the Apprenticeship Program) - Willing to commit to upgrading - Expected to work additional hours when necessary - Must pass physical examination (if requested by Committee) Successful candidate must commit to a minimum of five (5) years in the maintenance department after completion of program. - Three month probationary period. - Candidate at last stage of progressive disciplinary policy will not qualify for the Apprenticeship Program.

  • Apprenticeship 7.01 At such time, the parties agree to a training program, it is agreed to contact the California Nevada JATC to establish such program.

  • Apprenticeship Program The parties agree to meet to discuss the development of mutually agreeable apprenticeship programs. The specific provisions of the apprenticeship programs shall be subject to agreement between the City, the Civil Service Commission (where appropriate), and the Union. Each apprenticeship program, however, shall contain at least the following terms:

  • Training Committee The parties to this Agreement may form a Training Committee. The Training Committee will be constituted by equal numbers of Employer nominees and ETU employee representatives and have a charter which clearly states its role and responsibilities. It shall monitor the clauses of this Agreement which relate to training and ensure all employees have equal access to training.

  • Joint Safety Committee (a) The Union and the Company shall cooperate in selecting one or more Safety Committees, which will meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems. (b) The local Joint Safety Committee shall consist of equal representation from Company and Union. This Committee shall meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems.

  • Safety Committee Where a Health and Safety Committee is established on a job in accordance with section 72 of the OHS Act, it shall include the Employer’s Site Safety Supervisor and the Health and Safety Representative/s.

  • Scheduling Committee (a) The parties agree to the formation of a Scheduling Committee to discuss and assist in resolving scheduling issues. (b) The committee will be comprised of equal representation from the Union and management. One Union Representative shall be the Bargaining Unit President and one Management Representative shall be the Chief Nursing Officer or designate. (c) Terms of Reference will be developed and mutually agreed to by the Committee.

  • APPRENTICES 6.36.1 The Contractor acknowledges and agrees that, if this Contract involves a dollar amount greater than or a number of working days greater than that specified in Labor Code Section 1777.5, this Contract is governed by the provisions of Labor Code Section 1777.5. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure compliance with this Article and with Labor Code Section 1777.5 for all apprenticeable occupations. 6.36.2 Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1777.5 if that Section applies to this Contract as indicated above, the Contractor and any subcontractors under him employing workers in any apprenticeable craft or trade in performing any work under this Contract shall apply to the applicable joint apprenticeship committee for a certificate approving the Contractor or subcontractor under the applicable apprenticeship standards and fixing the ratio of apprentices to journeymen employed in performing the work. 6.36.3 Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1777.5 if that Section applies to this Contract as indicated above, he Contractor and any subcontractor under him may be required to make contributions to the apprenticeship program. 6.36.4 The Contractor and all subcontractors under him shall comply with Labor Code Section 1777.6 which Section forbids certain discriminatory practices in the employment of apprentices.

  • Nominating Committee Subject to the provisions of Article X, the Nominating Committee shall consist of such number of Directors (none of whom shall be an employee of the Corporation) as may be determined from time to time by the Board. Subject to the provisions of Article X, the Committee shall review the qualifications of potential candidates for the Equity Directors and shall propose nominees for the Equity Directors who are nominated by the Board. Subject to the provisions of Article X, in making their nominations, the Nominating Committee and the Board of Directors shall take into consideration that (i) the Board of Directors shall have meaningful representation of a diversity of interests, including floor brokers, floor traders, futures commission merchants, producers, consumers, processors, distributors and merchandisers of commodities traded on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (the “Exchange”) or Board of Trade of the City of Chicago, Inc. (the “CBOT”), participants in a variety of pits or principal groups of commodities traded on the Exchange or the CBOT and other market users or participants; (ii) at least 10% of the members of Board of Directors shall be composed of persons representing farmers, producers, merchants or exporters of principal commodities traded on the Exchange or the CBOT; and (iii) at least 20% of the members of the Board of Directors shall be composed of persons who do not possess trading privileges on either the Exchange or the CBOT, are not salaried employees of the Corporation and are not officers, principals or employees who are involved in operating the futures exchange related business of a firm entitled to members’ rates on either the Exchange or the CBOT. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Nominating Committee shall include the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation as a nominee for an Equity Director at any annual meeting of shareholders at which his or her term is scheduled to expire; provided, that if such term expiration occurs during the Transition Period, the Chief Executive Officer shall be nominated as a CME Director. Subject to the provisions of Article X, a majority of the Nominating Committee shall constitute a quorum necessary to transact business.

  • LABOR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE Section 1. In order to facilitate communication between labor and management, a Labor Management Committee consisting of the Department Head and/or his designated alternate, the Assistant Chief of Police and two (2) Team Managers, and three (3) representatives of the Lincoln Police Union, along with at least one (1) Team Representative, will make up the Labor Management Committee. The Department Head will designate management personnel and the Union shall select Union representatives. Members will serve at the pleasure of the Department Head or Union President, depending upon who the member represents. Members will serve and be replaced on a staggered system (approximately three (3) year limit) depending upon the schedule agreed upon by the Department Head and the Union President. Section 2. Each Team area will be represented by a member of any rank to serve as spokesperson for that area. They will meet at least one week prior to the monthly Labor Management Committee meeting to formulate the common areas of interest and to elect a spokesperson to present the items in writing to the Labor Management Committee. Payment for attending this meeting will be at the discretion of the Department Head. Spokesperson will be chosen on a rotating basis. Team representatives will be picked by a vote of the Team members that they are representing. Section 3. The Labor Management Committee may discuss any area of the Department, with limitation only on those areas already under agreement between the City and the Union. The agenda will be based on the problem areas brought to the attention of the Committee by the Team Representatives and on any area representative members of Labor Management feel need to be discussed. Topics for discussion will be posted on the Union bulletin board and disseminated to Labor Management Committee members at least one (1) week prior to the monthly meeting. Section 4. Membership is subject to change through attrition and elected office, however, a one (1) week notice must be given to the Committee to afford the new member(s) voting privileges. Section 5. Realizing that communication is the key element to the smooth operation of any organization, the Labor Management Committee will xxxxxx an element of cooperation and unity of organizational members, be they labor or management. Section 6. Meetings shall be held at least once per calendar month. Additional meetings may be scheduled by mutual agreement of the Committee and the Department Head. Section 7. A quorum shall consist of two (2) members from labor and two (2) members from management.

  • Adult Apprentices 26.1 Adult apprentices are apprentices who commence their apprenticeship at the age of 21 years or older. Adult apprentices engaged under any of the classifications set out in Appendix 1 and will be paid a minimum rate equal to the rate of pay for a second-year apprentice, for the first two years of the apprenticeship, then on parity with other apprentices for the third and fourth years.
