Unanticipated Sick Leave. When the need for sick leave is unanticipated and sickness or injury prevents the employee from reporting to work, the employee shall notify the Employer as soon as possible. In no event shall the employee provide such notification to his or her supervisor later than one (1) hour after the normal time for reporting to work. When employees are assigned to a duty station which has an evening and/or midnight shift, the employee will provide notification at least one hour prior to the beginning of the assigned shift. If the degree of the employee’s illness or injury prohibits compliance with the notification requirements provided above, the employee shall provide such notification as soon as possible. Acceptable evidence of such circumstances may be required.

Employees are expected to provide notification of illness prior to the start of an assigned shift, but in no event later than one hour after the start of the shift. If the illness or incapacitation precludes such notification, the employee shall provide notification as soon as possible. Employees will submit a completed WebTA request upon their return to duty.
Unanticipated Sick Leave. In the event of emergency situations or unanticipated absences, employees will attempt to first contact their first-line supervisor to notify management of the reason for the absence, the type of leave being requested, the expected duration of the absence and a call back number. If the immediate supervisor is not available, the employee will leave an email and/or voice message at the phone number provided by the first- line supervisor and then attempt to contact the second-line supervisor to notify them of the emergency, if the second-line supervisor is unavailable, then the employee will leave a voice message. Upon return, the employee will request the appropriate leave upon return using WebTA, its successor system or OPM-71 if an electronic system is unavailable upon return to duty. Employees are expected to provide notification of illness prior to the start of an assigned shift, but in no event later than one hour after the start of the shift unless the illness or incapacitation precludes such request. In such instances, the employee shall provide notification as soon as possible.

  • Accumulated Sick Leave ‌ The Employer shall inform all employees at least once each year of the number of sick days accumulated and shall make the information available to an employee on request.

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • Accident Leave 22.1 Transport of injured employees - Where the accident is work-related and the injury sustained by the employee necessitates immediate removal to a hospital, or to a medical practitioner for medical attention and then to their residence or a hospital, or to their residence (medical attention away from the residence not being required), the employer is to provide or arrange for the necessary transport, pay all reasonable expenses for meals and lodging incurred by or on behalf of the employee during the period she/he is transported, and claim reimbursement from ACC.

  • Sick Leave Donation In accord with state law and Medical Center policy, RN’s may donate sick leave to any employee entitled to receive such donations.

  • Sick Leave Donations Employees in the Unit as well as officers above the rank of sergeant and other non-bargaining unit employees in the Police Department may donate sick leave for the purpose of providing authorized sick leave to any Unit member who has exhausted all accrued annual, compensatory and sick leave.   • Sick Leaves a. After the first year of full-time employment, a full-time faculty member who, by reason of personal illness or a medically certified disability is incapable of performing the regular duties of a faculty member, shall be entitled to a sick leave, with full pay (in lieu of contract salary which otherwise would be earned), for a period not to exceed six months. In no event, however, shall the University’s payment for sick leave exceed one-half (1/2) of the faculty member’s then prevailing annual contract salary. If the faculty member receives governmental disability benefits and/or workers’ compensation benefits during the period of absence, the faculty member shall be paid the difference between the benefits received and the benefits provided above.
