Intervening in times when students may need specialized attention due to their behavior or inattention may have gotten out of control. Adjusting teaching and intervention methods to help teachers handle problems more easily and effectively.

We will ensure all staff provide equitable access to all students regardless of gender, race, national origin, color, disability, or age. All equipment bought with these funds will be distributed fairly and equitably. All OPA families will be given technology support regardless of gender, race, color, national origin, disability, or age. All OPA families will be given the opportunity to access the online curriculum and teacher supports. Families who have barriers to access for any reason shall be given assistance through a variety of programs, both school and community based, to ensure they have needed access.

Merit Academy strives to be inclusive to all students, faculty, staff and community members. One of our principal goals is to develop a sense of belonging within our school community. Merit Academy will ensure that all services, technologies and goods acquired from these funds will be used to promote an equitable learning environment for all students. Summer programs will be offered to provide additional support to students with disabilities, economic disadvantage, and other challenges, so that they can receive an equitable educational experience. Merit Preparatory Academy intends to use all funds in compliance with GEPA requirements and only use funds in compliance with allowable uses indicated under section 313(d) of the CRRSA Act for any activity listed in section 313(d). Any activity that is an allowable use of Elementary and Secondary Schools Emergency Relief (XXXXX) funds by an LEA under section 18003(d) of the CARES Act is also an allowable use of XXXXX II funds by an LEA under section 313(d) of the CRRSA Act. Merit will continue to fully compensate employees during any period of disruption provided that we continue to receive the funds to do so. We will comply with the requirements of Section 427 by paying salaries of staff who will teach our at-risk and Special Education students. The funds will not be used for equipment, but will go toward more time ensuring students have met state standards of proficiency. Students are chosen based upon scores from Acadience Benchmark Assessments, Imagine Math Benchmark Assessment, Imagine Literacy Assessments, etc. The funds may also be used to provide social and emotional support through our counseling and social workers department, which will be available to all students regardless of gender, race, color, national origin, disability or age.
