Xxxx Selection Committee. The selection of Xxxx shall follow the following steps: a) The chairs of the departments in the area shall meet to determine the structure of the Xxxx Selection Committee subject to the following constraints: i) the faculty representatives shall be selected by and from faculty (for the purposes of this subsection the term faculty refers both to faculty governed by this collective agreement and faculty governed by the B.C.G.E.U. collective agreement). ii) there shall be at least 6 faculty representatives with at most two from a single department. Non-regular faculty with two FTE years of service are eligible to serve on the Selection Committee and, at most, one of the faculty representatives may be non-regular. iii) the Vice President, Instruction shall be a member of the Committee. iv) one member of the Selection Committee shall be a C.U.P.E. support member selected by the C.U.P.E. support staff in the area. v) there shall be two other members of the Selection Committee that are not members of the area, one of which shall be a Xxxx and the other shall be a faculty member; these two members shall be chosen by the other members of the Selection Committee. vi) the Selection Committee shall choose its chair. b) The Selection Committee shall develop criteria, based on the approved position profile, for the selection of the Xxxx and shall establish processes to ensure that all faculty in the decanal area have an opportunity to provide input to the Selection Committee. c) The Selection Committee shall interview short-listed candidates for the position of Xxxx and shall make a recommendation to the President for the appointment of the new Xxxx.

Xxxx Selection Committee. Whenever a vacancy occurs in one of the following positions: Xxxx of the College of Arts and Sciences, Xxxx of the College of Business, Xxxx of the ASF College Education and Professional Studies, Xxxx of the College of Engineering, Xxxx of the College of the Environment and Life Sciences, Xxxx of the College of Health Sciences, Xxxx of the College of Xxxxxxx, Xxxx of the College of Pharmacy, Xxxx of the Graduate School, Xxxx of the Graduate School of Oceanography, , Xxxx of University Libraries, and Xxxx of University College for Academic Success, the President shall appoint an advisory committee to assist in filling the vacancy. The committee shall have five (5) members. Two (2) faculty members shall be selected by the Association and student members shall be appointed by the President when deemed appropriate by the committee. The committee membership may be enlarged by the President when wider representation of interest is desirable.
