Economic Cooperation. 1. The Parties will encourage the utilization of cooperation instruments and mechanisms with a view to strengthen the processes of economic integration and commercial exchange. 2. The objectives of economic cooperation will be: (a) to build on existing agreements or arrangements already in place for trade and economic cooperation; and (b) to advance and strengthen trade and economic relations between the Parties. 3. The Parties will encourage and facilitate, as appropriate, the following activities, including, but not limited to: (a) dialogue about policies and regular exchanges of information and views on ways to promote and expand trade in goods and services between the Parties; (b) joint elaboration of studies and technical projects of economic interest according to the economic development needs identified by the Parties; (c) keeping each other informed of important economic and trade issues, and any impediments to furthering their economic cooperation; (d) providing assistance and facilities to business persons and trade missions that visit the other Party with the knowledge and support of the relevant agencies; (e) supporting dialogue and exchanges of experience among the respective business communities of the Parties; (f) establishing and developing mechanisms for providing information and identifying opportunities for business cooperation, trade in goods and services, investment, and government procurement; and (g) stimulating and facilitating actions of public and/or private sectors in areas of economic interest.

Economic Cooperation. The Parties agree to develop a broad co-operationprogramme in the following areas: agriculture, mining, industry, construction,tourism, transportation, telecommunications, banking, insurance, capitalmarkets, professional services, and science andtechnology and suchother areas as may be agreed by the Parties.
Economic Cooperation. 1. The Parties agree to encourage investments by their nationals in each other's territory through, inter alia, the consideration of eventual negotiations of Bilateral Treaties on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments, investment promotion activities and the exchange of information on investment opportunities. To this end, similar agreements between individual Member States of CARICOM and Colombia will be encouraged. 2. The Parties agree to encourage joint production of goods and collaboration in the provision of services, especially those aiming to take advantage of market opportunities in third countries.
Economic Cooperation. 1. The Contracting Parties undertake, in accordance with their respective polices and objectives and within their financial means available, to xxxxxx economic cooperation for mutual benefit. 2. In the broad fields described above, and without excluding any area from the outset, the aims of the Contracting Parties shall be in particular to: - Improve the economic environment and business climate, - Cooperate in the protection of the environment and natural resources, - Cooperate in the field of energy, including non conventional sources and energy efficiency, - Cooperate in the field of telecommunications, information technology, and related matters, - Cooperate in the field of metrology and industrial standards, - Cooperate in the field of intellectual property, - Cooperate in the area of regional integration, through transfer of experience, - Encourage technology transfer in other sectors of mutual benefit, - Exchange information on monetary matters and the macroeconomic environment, - Reinforce and diversify economic links between them, - Encourage, by means of a favourable climate, the two-way flow of Community-Sri Lanka trade and investment, - Promote cooperation in order to develop agriculture, fisheries, mining, transport and communication, health, drug abuse control, banking and insurance, tourism and other services, - Facilitate the establishment of conditions conducive to job creation, - Encourage close cooperation between their private sectors, - Promote cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises, - Activate cooperation in the industrial sector, including agro-industry and industry with a heavy technological bias, - Promote cooperation in industrial and urban ecology, - Support Sri Lankan efforts in the field of trade promotion and market development, - Promote cooperation between education and training institutions, - Promote scientific and technological cooperation, - Encourage cooperation in the field of privatization in Sri Lanka, - Cooperate in t...
Economic Cooperation. Article 52 Basic Principles
Economic Cooperation. 1. The Parties, in the light of the complementarity of their interests and of their long-term economic capabilities, shall bring about economic cooperation in all fields deemed suitable by the Parties. Among the objectives of such cooperation shall be: - the encouragement of closer economic links through mutually beneficial investment, - the encouragement of technological and scientific progress, - the opening up of new sources of supply and new markets, - the creation of new employment opportunities. 2. As means to such ends, the Parties shall, as appropriate, encourage and facilitate inter alia: - a continuous exchange of information relevant to economic cooperation as well as the development of contacts and promotion activities between firms and organizations in both regions, - the fostering, between respective firms, of indus- trial and technological cooperation, including mining, - cooperation in the fields of science and technology, energy, environment, transport and communications, agriculture, fisheries and forestry. In addition the Parties undertake to improve the existing favourable investment climate inter alia through encouraging the extension, by and to all Member States of the Community and by and to all member countries of ASEAN, of investment promotion and protection arrangements which endeavour to apply the principle of non-discrimination, aim to ensure fair and equitable treatment and reflect the principle of reciprocity. 3. Without prejudice to the relevant provisions of the Treaties establishing the Communities, this Agreement and any action taken thereunder shall in no way affect the powers of any of the Member States of the Communities to undertake bilateral activities with any of the member countries of ASEAN in the field of economic cooperation and conclude, where appropriate, new economic cooperation agreements with these countries.
