College Assistants are eligible for the Longevity Increment if they were employed in that title for 500 or more hours in each of 15 contract years (July 1 to June 30).
Longevity Increment = $1000 Calculating Teachers’, JROTC Teachers’ and Athletic Trainers’ longevity increments: During the 5th year of service on the top step of the highest range, and each year of service thereafter, a teacher, a JROTC teacher and an athletic trainer are entitled to a career increment of $1000.

A Longevity Increment shall be added for all full-time (30 hours per week) unit members having completed 19 years of service in either the State Teachers Retirement System, the School Employees Retirement System, or the Public Employees Retirement System.
Bargaining unit members shall receive an additional $500 Longevity Increment upon reaching thirty-five (35) years of service and each year thereafter.
Effective July 1, 1990, employees receiving the Longevity Increment pursuant to Section 11 of the 1984-87 Municipal Coalition Agreement shall receive an additional longevity increment of $300 per annum.
Those members who were receiving Longevity Increment Pay as of July 31, 2011, shall be grandfathered, and effective August 1, 2011 their Longevity Increment Pay shall be reduced by 5% and shall remain frozen at that level and no additional increments shall be earned, as described herein.
