Supervision of Student Teachers. Paragraph 1: Supervision of a student teacher shall be voluntary. Teachers shall normally be notified of a student teacher assigned at least two (2) weeks prior to the student teacher’s introduction to the classroom. The school system shall provide the cooperating teacher with whatever materials it deems appropriate. The cooperating teacher shall be responsible for being knowledgeable of the contents of any such materials provided.
Supervision of Student Teachers. A. The District reserves the right to assign student teachers; however, supervision of all student teachers shall be on a voluntary basis.
B. All financial compensation received by the District as compensation for direct supervision of a student teacher, less necessary withholding, will be paid to the cooperating teacher.
Supervision of Student Teachers. 1. Supervising teachers shall be probationary or tenured teachers with a minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience. Selection of supervising teachers shall be made by the Administration with the consent of the teacher. It is understood that a teacher may refuse to act as supervising teacher.
2. Supervising teachers shall be notified of student-teacher assignments as soon as practicable.
Supervision of Student Teachers. No teacher will be required to accept the responsibility of supervising student teachers.
Supervision of Student Teachers. The district shall forward to the employee any payments received from the college or university placing student teachers they have designated for that purpose.
Supervision of Student Teachers. A cooperating teacher may, upon written application, be granted one point of informal credit for each 100 hours of supervision of a student teacher to a maximum of three (3) points in any one school year.
Supervision of Student Teachers. A. The Board and the Association mutually recognize that the education of children of Gateway Regional High School District is their primary responsibility. The Board and the Association further recognize their responsibility to assist in the effective training of future teachers under the highest standards.
B. Supervision by a teacher of a student teacher shall be voluntary. Each teacher shall be polled prior to any school year for willingness to participate in the student teaching program. No teacher shall have a student teacher under his/her supervision unless said teacher has had three (3) years of successful teaching experience. In the event that the previous conditions cannot be met, the Superintendent shall use his/her judgment for assigning a student teacher to a teacher without three (3) years satisfactory experience.
Supervision of Student Teachers. A. The selection and assignment of "cooperating teachers" for the supervision of student teachers shall be at the District's discretion. However, the initial acceptance of such assignments each term shall be voluntary.
B. Any monies received from a college as compensation for student teacher supervision shall be paid to the "cooperating teacher" at the conclusion of each college term.
Supervision of Student Teachers. Supervising unit members shall be selected by the Director of Certificated/Licensed Personnel, the Principal and the Department Chair at the high school level and by the Principal at the elementary and middle school levels. Preference shall be given to unit members with master degrees, a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the Newark City Schools, a major in the subject area in which the student will be teaching, or other skills and capabilities suggesting master-level competency. Supervising unit members must hold a Professional or higher-grade teaching license.
Supervision of Student Teachers. A maximum of three (3) semester hours of credit may be earned for the successful supervision of a student Teacher or intern in accordance with CDE regulations. Three
